So this whole talk of Aug 19 wave was all a farce then? What do people gain by spreading panic like this ? Shame on you folks. Thanks, OP for this refreshing post.
@pgv+1cqtiqnY - surely you do not mean Capital Markets Technology! I work in the team that compiles the HR data and I do not see any drop in the last 2 weeks except people leaving voluntarily. Where the h*ll are you seeing people being laid off ?
@pgv+1cqtiqnY - why would not mention the names of the groups within CMT or, for that matter mention the titles of the people let go? Because you do not work at Wells anymore. You are making up a story. I work in CMT myself and no one told me of a layoff . Now, I say, go back to BOA.
I saw 3 layoffs yesterday with teams I work with in CMT. Three different position titles. No I will not say the groups and no this is not hearsay. They are all marked zz and have been offline for over a day as of now. I'm sure if I looked deeper I would find more but I am only talking about people I directly worked with in some form or another.

Not sure why you care. I could tell you about those that I know about but why would I? It's not really any of your business. Call it hearsay if you want but if people get laid off and want to come here and tell everyone about it, that's up to them.
The company is trying to keep communication about layoffs quiet in order to keep themselves out of the media (media loves to report layoff numbers) and keep employees in other groups uninformed (what you don't know won't hurt you).
A group I work with lost most of their people last month, but it was never announced and we only discovered it by seeing members of the team in a removed status in outlook days later.
Interesting how their approach has some of you thinking layoffs are a hoax. It must be working.
All these brutal responses have still not mentioned even one group where Layoffs happened . Loose mention of technology is mentioned . I say this is “hearsay”.
You can tell people are making things up when they use language as broad as "Tech." They won't use specific LOBs within Tech, because that would be easily verifiable.
"Tech" did not get hit yesterday. I think it is coming, but yesterday was not a layoff event.
People get laid off all the time.
People create panic with the 200k number and mass layoffs because they are a royal pain in real life and have nothing better to do.

I work closely with two of the areas being mentioned around here as supposedly having had a big impact, and it's a flat out lie. Those areas did not see any major layoffs today.
This board is basically a bunch of LARPers and sock puppets.
This company is so siloed that people rarely know what’s going on EVERYWHERE. Maybe your area wasn’t impacted but others were. Just another genius at Wells!
