Corporate America, and in particular - Wells Fargo - are EXPERTS in shedding liability.
There is an entire legion of lawyers in San Francisco whose sole purpose is to make sure the bank does not have to pay out any of the banks profits (aka chainsaws personal piggybank) for any bone headed decision.
Everything that happens here is wrapped in 10 layers of legalease to protect the bank from lawsuits.
Covid adds a new wrinkle that has some legal risk for the bank.
If the bank comes out and says "you must be vaccinated, heres $100 if you go get your shot" the bank wont do this.
Why?
Because if you get sick and die your estate sues the bank.
Lawsuits are expensive....and they hit the Efficiency Ratio number, something chainsaw has been constantly telling shareholders he plans to reduce. Lawsuits INCREASE the efficiency ratio, which is counter to his promise made to shareholders.
Go get your vaccine people, but do not be afraid to lie to them that you remain unvaccinated.
They cannot legally verify it either way and they must "accommodate" you, which includes allowing you to continue to work from home, or they must provide you office accommodations and supplies (which you can then sell on ebay) to protect you from others who are vaccinated who might get you sick.
They cannot fire you because you are unvaccinated and object on religious grounds.
Our goal should be to bleed them and make them LESS efficient. The bank wont bat an eye sending your job to India. You shouldn't bat an eye finding novel ways to make business more expensive and less efficient.

Accommodating Unvaccinated Employees
According to the EEOC, federal laws prohibiting discrimination in the workplace “do not prevent an employer from requiring all employees physically entering the workplace to be vaccinated for COVID-19.”
In enacting such a policy, however, the employer must be sure to accommodate employees who may have a disability or sincerely held religious belief that would prevent them from being vaccinated. Such accommodations could include requiring unvaccinated employees to wear masks, practice social distancing in the workplace, or have the opportunity to work remotely.
While a company may require employees to be vaccinated, some employers may not feel comfortable instituting this kind of policy for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to morale issues, possible employee resignations, or fear of potential liability if the vaccines have a negative effect.
