Will the U management team step up & stand strong for its members & not allow the T management team to force this v@x requirement on the members? Everyone I’ve talked to said they’re getting out if the U goes along with T’s plan.

The big question is whether you get the termination pay, if you are considered to have violated the code of conduct.
The union needs to negotiate so that does not happen or be considered as such. It seems likely that the vaccination will become part of that code if not already. Then you would be in the same class of people as thieves, who are dr-g addicts or people who watch po-n at work. I don't think that not getting vaccinated is the same.
How about this take: Let’s say the science changed(you know, like back when Faucci was saying masks are ineffective)..Let’s say the company came out & said this______ vax is dangerous/unproven/whatever, and if you get the ____ vax, you will be terminated? Would you stick with your decision, get the vax, & be thrown out the door or would you want the company to consider your situation/condition/conviction as well and try to reach a point where you & everyone else can continue to work & provide for their families in as safe of a manner as reasonably possible?
@3zoj: they’ve already gotten the message from those that don’t want it. We are counting on the leadership to consider the needs of all the members not just whoever screams the loudest(whichever side that may be). That being said, I’m glad to see the ones that have researched, consulted, & decided that getting it is the best thing for them are indeed able to get it.
Honestly, most of my call center peers WANT the vaccine requirement because they feel it protects them against variants and if their vaccine loses effectiveness. So, I think the leadership will not be getting the message that all the people they represent don’t want the requirement.
@2dul, represented employees have 2 management teams they have to be aware of and keep in check as best they can: the leaders of the company(T) & the leaders of the unions(U)
What U management team?
What therapeutics are you referencing that ‘works’ against COVID? We all need that information.
"79 weeks termination pay for 30 or more years at the company as per contract. I got $50000 plus sipp on the voluntary severance. Termination pay for not getting the vax may be a better payoff. Check the contract."
I'm not sure you get any of that if your terminated for cause once the Union is in agreement with the Company.
They are bullying people into taking a non-proven dr-g. Its not a vaccine - vaccines offer immunity to disease - this vax at best may reduce the severity of a case. Therapeutics work - don't take this junk. The vaccines companies are immune from liability and they have been sued for billions for other dr-gs that they brought to market knowing they would cause injury or death (Vioxx, Bextra, Celebrex, Thalidomide and other Opiods. Stand your ground. Its none of AT&T business who is vaxed and who is not... We all did fine last year without it.
Don't get fired. Just take your jab, then spend the last few years you have left being a boat anchor for the company weighing it down.
They will stop up and protect us from the unvaccinated. Go infect someone else.
No management team with step up. Managers are just a bunch of followers and are weak
I would be willing to bet @qzm goes to the grocery store, to the gas station, to the bakery, to the department store, to the post office, to the movies, to the park, to church, to restaurants, to their friends houses, without trying to require that everyone in those places all be vaxxed, they probably would not even attempt to ask... The customers in those places would be quite willing to suggest some kind of long walk off of a short pier if someone were to start with this type of controlling behavior....... Why do you think someone should be able to control other people that have not been convicted of any crime just because you think so?????? I would bet that @qzm is quite eager for legislation to spend other peoples earnings but quite reluctant to voluntarily spend theirs first... Did I get the right vibe about you, @qzm ??
@qzm, which infectious boneheads, the ones with or without the vacc, because both are spreading it?
They are standing up for those of us that don't want to be around you infectious boneheads.
@ruj, you don’t find it alarming/disturbing that the cdc is telling employers to force the jab on their employees but the cdc isn’t doing the same for its own employees?…how about the White House staff? Nope, no force jab for them either, but yet uncle joe is telling us we must get it. Do as I say not as I do…that’s what my instructor at kamikazi pilot school taught me when I asked him to do a hands on demonstration for me. I dropped out of the school that day.
The EEOC, due to the pandemic, has given a lot of flexibility for companies to do as they please in the name of health and safety. If you don’t comply, they can fire you without severance and without unemployment. Even medical exemption isn’t a strong case since what was a “reasonable accommodation” may not be the same as a pre-pandemic accommodation. All in the name of health and safety.
Crazy world we’re in.
79 weeks termination pay for 30 or more years at the company as per contract. I got $50000 plus sipp on the voluntary severance. Termination pay for not getting the vax may be a better payoff. Check the contract.
AT&T specifically said they would make changes to the policy based on new CDC guidance. Not sure what this has to do with CDC employees.
JCY, cdc doesn’t require the jab for their employees.
Issue is they are following CDC policy. If CDC recommends boosters every 6 months, then you will be required to get the boosters or be terminated. In for a penny, in for a pound.
No.
No they won’t.
