Woke Manager Training

Anyone else get to be on a call with 2,000 lower middle managers only to be subjected to an hour and a half of rambling woke buzzwords and nonsense?

I guess this DEI deal is turning into a heck of a cottage industry, with these consultants being paid six figures so Chainsaw Charlie can go on CNBC and tell everyone what a woke, diverse company we are

Is it just me, or doesn't diversity just seem to be an issue at the top of the house? This is coming from a GWM.

I will be the lone voice of dissent to this post and expect a lot of negative ratings on my note. I am an ethnic minority manager and I am forced to sing this D,E,I song daily. Am I aiming my g-ns at the average white fellow workers - male and female ? Not really. I am trying to show to the management that I exist and may be they ignored me too. It has been a lose-lose battle for many of us. We see a very elite class of minorities being brought in or elevated who I do not associate with. In fact these people are suddenly being elevated just because they look pretty in a picture or press release and they have nothing to do with me or my community. My battle is not with my white fellow colleagues … it is with a system that systematically ignores qualified and competent people. Oh btw, if you are also a minority, your fate is sealed unless you look pretty and can be a nice figurehead. Unlike me. No I expect many of you NOT to press the negative ratings on my post now that you have heard this feeble voice.

So tired of hearing how not everyone gets a chance. Everyone has a chance to make something of themselves. Yes some might have to work harder or take a different route but that's what them makes them unique and very possibly the better candidate as they go along that path. I see successful people from all walks of life so you can't tell me any one group has no opportunity.
This training is more likely to make people racist opposed to minimizing it. Even the example video has a racist type comment that would not be ok in our workplace. So on top of everything else it's ok to be racist in some scenarios? Slippery slope folks and one we can't win.

Absolute Joke! When will people learn that the more your force this topic the more you actually divide. Everyone has opportunity to make things happen for themselves. This BS is ruining our company and our country.

Chucks team will never, ever, be as diverse as mine is. I really don't need to hear it from him or his surrogates. That said, hiring/firing/opportunity based on demographics rather than merit is a failed primitive and self-destructive mindset. I hire the best people, and like I said before, the result is super diverse, if you care to dehumanize individuals by putting them into demographic boxes, which I don't.

It’s lipstick on a pig so Charlie can look good and we get to be subjected to hours of nonsense that ki-l our productivity. Meanwhile I get a lower rating if I lose more people with a “diversity dimension” than if they’re white, straight, regardless of the reason. That will only motivate managers to keep more poor performers across the board

As usual, the employees pay for the sins of upper management. Same thing has happened because of the accounts scandal, which many many people have lost their livelihood over.

Yep saying there was a dearth of black talent was a real di-k move. There’s no dearth of black talent, there’s a dearth of black people who have had the opportunity to work their way up to upper management.

You could say the same about other groups, but we are talking about Chainsaw’s comment re black applicants here.

That remark is why we’re being inundated with courses and meetings. It’s all smoke to cover up Charlie’s true attitude.

This is coming from a white female with eyes.

Reputation risk is a thing.

Charlie was an id--t and said one of the worst possible things WRT diversity. Now we get to live through the penance of his sin.
