Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Bad reputation

HW doesn’t care about reputation because there’s no interest in hiring the best people here anymore. Reputation used to be very important, but now no one cares that HW is mostly synonymous with a company you should avoid if you have the knowledge, skills and talent.
Since when has reputation ceased to matter here?

The planned future lies in offshore sweatshops, so any local hiring is strictly a stopgap measure with little concern for maintaining high-quality skills on a long-term basis. Be warned and be informed, and comport yourself accordingly.

@1fzk, you made some strong points, but blew it all by gratuitously tossing in the weaponized "r" word.

Honeywell's well-earned reputation for poor quality, poor management, and poor corporate culture precedes it. As I'm interviewing to leave this mess, the committees with whom I speak have preemptive answers to my questions about pay, promotions, culture, work/life balance and actual leadership compared to Honeywell. On top of that, these other companies have begun calling us Honeywell refugees when we decide to leave for a better career or are laid off. If that doesn't speak volumes about Honeywell, I don't know what does.

@OP. Honeywell has a great reputation.
All of the labor markets that matter line up to work at honeywell.

You are blinded by outdated nationalism.
Open your eyes and look at your spoiled children spending more time on Facebook than homework. Now turn on the tv and listen to America's school leaders worry more about social indoctrination and sports inclusiveness than excellence in math and science.
America's labor pool is not relevant. Who would you rather hire ? American women's studies major for 100k/yr or an Indian PhD with a portfolio in optical theory for 40k/yr?
Thought so...racist.
