Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Nat gas soars

We gave away Atlas at the lowest historic gas prices. Prices have nearly doubled in a year and poised to race higher. Europeans are paying as much as $15/mcf. Crazy market.

Supplies are tight this year. If the northeast gets a cold winter we could see $6. You heard it here first,

*When CVX buys NatGas, Sell. When CVX SELLS NatGas, buy. Probably the most reliable investment strategy that ever existed.

What will grow faster - EV car production or clean energy? Nobody builds new gas power plants anymore.

@3kjr, that was exactly my point.

@hft

When EV are more common nat gas will sky rocket. What fuels those EV power plants and power plants use nat gas. For years and years it’s been low as oil was expensive and the gas was being sold as scrap for chasing the oil. With lower oil production gas prices will rise and eventually sky rocket. Same with heavy metals for those batteries.

It is becoming clearer and clearer that UCR, especially for gas, is a low-margin game best suited for small, low overhead (no bloated HR, no lawyers, no CTC, no D&I) companies. I don't think (please correct me if I'm wrong) there are any majors left playing Appalachian UCR gas. Even majors with weaker Permian positions are looking for a way out.

As liquids production increases, natural gas prices will fall again.

AMBU used to be cash positive, so why could they not hold on for a bit while nat gas recovered?

Just wait a few years when EVs are more common.

Europe, North America, and Asia are vastly different markets. I'm not so concerned about what we did with Atlas vs. what the present administration is doing with Russian gas. But hey, I could be wrong, we do have an upmost expert on Ukrainian gas that can be consulted by the administration. His knowledge of pipes & products is unmatched by anyone in the industry.
