Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

WFH made me want to stay at WFC

I was ready to leave WFC before the pandemic. The job was becoming a joke considering we were seeing benefits and perks being removed on a monthly basis. But then the pandemic happened and we got the chance to work from home. And suddenly half of my problems were gone. The reduction in my expenses made up for some of the financial/benefit hits I've taken in the past several years. I had more free time which improved my work/life balance significantly. Not being around my problematic manager all the time did wonders for my confidence and overall enjoyment in what I do. Things have improved enough that I have put my job search on hold months ago. And now they want to take all of the good things away once again by forcing us back to the office? I'll be restarting my job search if they don't change their mind about this. I hoped I wouldn't have to do that, but after seeing my job improve so much, I can't go back to how it was.

Charlie treats each company he works for with absolute contempt. It’s almost like he hates the company and despises anyone associated with it. Weird how boards keep hiring him.

Life improves when you leave that toxic company.

Completely agree with OP. Covid and WFH was never on Charles in Charge’s 2020 or 2021 slash and dash bingo card. This was supposed to be a quick strip down, sell off, layoff, and off to the next corporate raid for him. Now with the Delta variant, his dreams of instant riches are slowly fading again.

I get that forced attrition is a big part of his plan to cut expenses, but not communicating intent is just cruel. Just be straight with us. Lay people off. Fire the one’s that are dead weight. Keep whoever drinks the KoolAid. All this could have been done prior to RTO, but Charlie had to be mean about it. He had to drag it out and torture us for a year and a half because he wanted to play chicken with us to see who would crack.🥚

Chuckie's plan is working. He wants you to quit. No more WFH full time, you quit and Chuckie avoids severance. Stock goes up. Chuckie gets richer..

You said.... I hoped I wouldn't have to do that, but after seeing my job improve so much, I can't go back to how it was.

Are you sure you didn't mean to say your LIFE improved? I highly doubt anything changec about your job, I'm sure it's as toxic as ever.
