Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Last days here

I wanted to quit without burning all bridges, I gave notice and thought I would finally be able to get some relief. I expected that during my last days here some colleagues would act distant, that I would be less motivated for work than ever etc. What I didn't expect was that I would get more work than ever. Has anyone else happened to be overwhelmed with even more work after giving notice?

Last Days indeed! HoneyHell makes it easy to just clean out most of your stuff the night before, send an email the morning of your last day, and just walk (or be walked) out the door into your new job or retirement!

Not surprising, it associates your name with those tasks, and once you are gone, their status (for good or bad) becomes your legacy.

I worked so hard my last two weeks at Honeywell (to someone else’s point, it was VERY Honeywell). Be glad that you’ve moved on! I noticed that a lot of people opened up to me more about how unhappy they were once I gave notice.

Yes, this happened to me too, 7 years ago. I gave my notice during the end of year holidays. The difference being that did it from home and only came back in to drop off my computer.

One week before my final day I got pulled into a high level technical multi site online meeting where they didn't know I was leaving. They wanted me to solve a first installation failure of a Redmond product on a Boeing aircraft. They were going to micromanage the solution which they had no clue. I refused and reported that was my last week at hw. For the holiday? No, I said, I'm resigning. Crickets on the phone.

They gave me huge lists of things to accomplish. I spent my time deleting emails and destroying all unreleased documentation in compliance with Honeywell’s document retention policies. 90 days and gone. No I am not doing some kcat program and I am not going to teach someone the root cause for a particular error bit in HASS. Too late for that. Apparently the only things in Honeywell that have expiration dates are documents, emails, lunch from those machines, and employees.

A soulless place that celebrates weapons of war including nuclear weapons. Ashamed I spent so much energy there.
