I retired early and unexpectedly and didn't make any plans. Not having to do math in my head everyday, keep equations in mind, and be technical lead and planner on large complicated programs left me happy but kind of dissolutioned.
To make the transition I bought a how to design and install metal roofing dvd. After spending 6 months learning, generating a scale drawing of the metal roofing, generating detailed parts list, talking to suppliers, I built a beautiful metal roof on my home. I flew my brother in from Ohio to help me with the heavy lifting for 5 days. Neighbor's were in see and often stopped to watch the progress.
What have others done in this situation?
