Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Can't wait to be a former DXC employee

I hate the fact that I've been unable to land a new job for the past year. I want to be out so badly. I can't take this for much longer. I'm overworked, constantly worried about layoffs, and I have to navigate toxic work politics on daily basis. One positive thing was my manager, but like all the rare good ones, she was chased off and the one I have now is nothing but an incompetent bully. Would any normal person want to stay in such an environment?

@1txg+1cXi2VYC - spot on; don't do any more and above your pay grade, contractual hours or above and beyond your employment contract - fellow managers and now fellow employees at DXC just take credit for your work and get jealous + nasty if you're show any initiative.

Don't worry about %$$%$% off your clients / customers - they will leave DXC eventually

Keep your head up and keep looking for that new job. It will come! Stop working after you completed your 40 hour work week. Let the bully know you work your 40 hours and thats all. End of story. Last but not least, if your asked to train someone, like your replacement, don't.

Working for an incompetent bully is toxic in itself, as they will always blame YOU to hide their shortfalls and you will likely find yourself in many uncomfortable situations as a result of poor management.

Conversely, when you have a good coach and focussed leader for a Manager (I don't think there are any left in DXC) then their meetings will always make you feel better coming out than when you went in or you feel you got the answers you needed. It makes all the difference.

When you work for someone who is focussed on themselves, their own image and will admit to you that they are not a 'people person' it can be soul destroying, as you can never get hold of them, they never complete any actions and they only approach you when they need you to get them out of a mess they created - which they will later blame you for if you don't fix it! DXC Management. Yes I remember it well. I empathize.

Good luck to you. Life is far better on the other side I can assure you.

It's not middle management, its from the TOP ! Middle management does what upper management tells them to do

Overworked? That's your own fault, if you don't get paid by the hour then only work 40 hours a week. When work isn't getting done they might hire (or move) someone to help you.

retraining these bully and narrow minded ego'tistic managers won't help - they will bully even more and take credit for their employee's work

Best thing is an organization survival is too chop and trim down middle management - have full 360 degree feedback, get them to reapply for their jobs every 4 years and yield out the dross.

Unfortunately DXC is sinking like the titanic - one of reason is poor inept middle management.

retraining won't change them - it's too goes too deep

A good portion of the middle are incompetent bullies, they are finally realising this and are re training them. Whether the re training will work is another matter.

Until there's some feedback/review of managers from staff they will likely continue in the same manner.
