Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Permian Town Hall

Key takeaways.

Questions posted to Slido, Mgmt did not answer Slido questions.

Mgmt is not concerned on attrition rate.

The word “Care” was used 25 times, no actions to back up the words.

Mgmt is here to help, but they are not decision makers- can only influence.

Management can’t expect to rebuild the reputation of the company overnight. Like controllers always say in training you can lose a reputation you built over your lifetime in a minute. Reputation has been lost and it will take years of consistently different behavior including behaving differently through the next downturn before people will begin to think they may have changed. They showed their true colors in the downturn. It is easy to “care” and treat employees well when oil is $100 a bbl and employees are hard to find. How they treated us during the downturn is much more telling of how they truest think of us. We are not family. We are not all in this together. We are not valued. Past contributions don’t matter. There is no long term relationship.

Can we get someone to post the link to the next Permian employee forum? Sounds like we missed a doozie.

I learned that inflation isn’t real. I guess that answers the raise question.

Even Target and Walmart have a tuition reimbursement program. They gutted our program before the pandemic and then cancelled it completely. When I was recruited they talked up the education program and the company’s commitment to supporting continuing education and career growth. My my my how times have changed.

Think we’ll quit having town halls soon? Why would anyone want to stand there, take these questions, and lie to us about the answers? I’ve been with the company for a while and this really saddens me. Several managers seem to have lost, or sold, their souls.

I see local management doing things within their control to try improve the situation but they can’t fix the big problems that are driving many out of the company.

Anyone else wondering why we have to go a year with no match based on business results e showed? Obviously they don’t give a damn about employees.

Their choices have started something and they are unwilling to make the big changes it would take to make it stop. The genie is out of the bottle. The horse has left the barn. Pandora’s box is open.

@1fdb+1cXgB7Ia You are absolutely right. Just like HR and law are only there to protect company not employees. No one is looking out for employees.

We are understaffed and can’t get any employees to move to the Permian. Meanwhile we continue to see resignations accelerate.

@1qfz+1cXgB7Ia you may want to check how care is defined at the company. It is care about company and not people.

At this point I honestly can’t think of anything they could do that would restore my faith in management or the future of the company. #sinkingship #noleadership

I love that someone counted how many times care was said.

I don’t know if I should feel mad at or sorry for middle management. I believe him when he says he can only influence not decide. Question is why won’t the decider come talk to us and explain himself. #WhereIsTheDecider

Id--ts think they are going to be able to ramp up Permian production and reduce emissions without any employees. Wake up! Daily resignations. We are hemorrhaging people. Those who are still here are looking to get out. None of your Houston people want to move to Permian. The band plays on while the Titanic sinks and the captain doesn’t even know he hit an iceberg.

I quit attending management forums. I can tell you exactly what they said without even attending. Do yourself a favor and skip it next time and avoid the frustration of listening to them provide no answer management speak.

It is unbelievable to me that management hasn’t gotten it through their thick skulls they can’t just keep saying we care and are looking into it. Raymond fricking Jones needs to hold a town hall and answer these questions if his underlings don’t have the answers. “Leaders” don’t hide.

It was incredibly frustrating that they didn’t address the top voted questions. Who was the goon who said let me summarize the themes of these questions giving them an excuse to not read and answer the questions. Seemed like a planned tactic to dodge having to respond.

I do not appreciate the id--t who went off on the secondary causes diatribe saying the fed numbers on inflation are temporary and lower than reported. Question was if raises would be meaningful and more than just inflation over the past two years.

Management is riding this one to the bottom. I’m just surprised they are not controlling where the losses are occurring. Seems a bit irresponsible.

Start your own thread. No one in Permian cares about Guyana or Brazil.
