Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Max pay $34 a hour.

Sounds nice until I added it up. With the 2% I will reach 34 dollars a hour when I’m 72 years old. Started Sam’s at 19. 🤣

Just think at the good side …. When ever it is that you reach $30 an hour. Then you will get .60 on the 2% raise yearly , Great job !! But your competitor will be paying $35 an hour by then too . O well …

I agree, the 2% should be raised. A few cents a year, after this covid competition between big corporations end and they stop with any significant raises, is just pathetic. Especially since nothing is merit based. It's like an Oprah show. You get 2%, you get 2%...

Lowered the cap on Backroom? You sure about that? Many of them are above that already and nothing was communicated about it being lowered.

They forgot to let everyone know that only fresh areas can make that much. Like someone else said most would retire before they made that much per hour. So about 30 people in building can make up to $34 the other 140 or so can make the $21.50 max pay at retirement age.

Oh honey, the Backroom associates are only able to max out at 22.80. That is actually $2 LESS than what it was just last week. This is all smoke and mirrors bull stink to make Walmart seem like they care. They don’t.

What is really upsetting is that associates who have worked there for over 30 years make just a dollar or two more than those that are just starting. How is that even right?

It's all relative. some people go their entire lives and never see $20/hr. Others progress and learn through their whole career and retire making $55/hr, $75/hr, and beyond.
All with varying levels of stress. It's up to each individual to decide how much effort you want to put in, and an overall direction in life and stick to it. Lots of ways to be happy.
