Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

My Philisophy

No matter how hard and efficient I or 100,000 plus other employees work it simply will never overcome the self inflicted gashes to the hull and the overall company culture. So I kick back do the bare minimum and check those ATT boxes and collect a check for operating at 30% of what I could do. Go at 130% get 1-2% raise, go at 30% get 1-2% raise, same bonus either way. Ride this stuck bleeding pig for as long as possible.

Can’t argue with this. I busted bu-t for 26 years. Not even a thanks. You are only as good as today. Last 2 1/2 decades don’t mean a thing. Let those youngsters figure it out. Time to take that fork in the road .

So you’re going to sh-t on your co-workers? I was miserable at T, so guess what, I quit. You all are a bunch of whiners and lazy as--s!

You are spot on with your work ethic. No longer will I do anything to help advance the success of T! T drew first blood when it cut or reduced its benefits package, not to mention loss of days off! The team I work with doesn't seem to care much anymore, just a paycheck with nothing to aspire to.

I just show up for the pay check. I buy all my services from the better cheaper competition and use the county hospital emergency room for my healthcare needs.

"Nice work ethic. Where is your personal integrity?"

Dunno. I'll have to look around for it. Maybe it's with the 5 PTO days I misplaced, or with the healthcare insurance supplement I use to have.

Stock Price says zero chance of succeeding against Tmobile, Verizon, Comcast, or the guy with a mailbag satchel and horse. The days of political lobbying to creat moats is over and ATT is simply not a premium brand which executives fail to realize. For the same network service delivery you have options that are 40% less cost than ATT. Executives also faill to realize the marketplace despises ATT and everything about them. Havi g a deek head like Stankey at the wheel doesnt do anything to improve the image. So yes give it the bare minimum and call it a day. The losses Stankey and Stevenson have racked up coyld have gicen nearly all employees a fat $200K check. Instead you are left with layoffs, share price destruction, and a debt bombed balance sheet.

30% is a good rate - doing enough to stay busy but leaving time for errands and personal stuff. This company doesn't reward you such that you have incentive to do more

Sad to say but I have to agree. There is no incentive to work at 100 plus percent and give my all any longer as I did in years past.
