Cincinnati Bell was acquired today by a foreign private equity partnership for only $2.9B. This would have been a good acquisition by T if they were not so heavily leveraged. You can bet all T employees located in the greater Cincinnati area had hope that Stankey would acquire Cincinnati Bell.

That's the same thing you said about Direct TV and Warner Media! Look where that got you!
A bug on the windshield of AT&T. No big loss.
The future is low orbit satellite infrastructure
I bet T can be a real contender in this space. Elon Musk and Starlink had better watch out, because Stankey's leadership is so innovative and dynamic, that nobody can keep up.
The future is low orbit satellite infrastructure. But this was a bargain based on ROI.
Very cheap for the T plans to get proper debt.
a regional telco with a tiny customer base. Yeah, that sounds like a good idea
In all seriousness, fiber is profitable in areas of the country that aren’t prone to hurricanes. And there would be actual synergies. A better investment than, well, anything Randall came up with.

Why? Because you think it'd be cool? Sounds like some Randall-level thinking going on here.
Stephenson and Stankey wish that hadn't missed that opportunity to acquire Royal Typewriter too . . . .LOL
I live in Cincinnati proper, would have loved it if T had acquired Cinci Bell.
They always say, find something you can do better than anyone else and you will prosper. AT&T provisions POTS better than anyone else, therefore T should prosper.
That's what we are now! Old landline infrastructure! That is all T will ever be. It's like T is selling buggy whips, as long as there is a market, we will be around.
Sure. Green copper connected to some reliable Step by Stepers, a few #5 X-Bars. 2 Stromberg Carlsons, a Tekelec here and there, an Ericsson AXE, reliable 1A's, DMS and a 5ESS with a lot of D1A/D1D & D4 banks. Perhaps a rockwell mux and selling Land Line service along with DSL. A real bargain.
Exactly what EdHead did putting the Bell's back together again paying too much for way too little. The Stink would be better off buying shoe stores.
Yeah. Old landline infrastructure is not something companies are clamoring for.
You are right, this company was already in T's footprint.
