Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

What would you do?

I'm not trying to say that I’m the best worker ever, but let’s just say I try to do my job as best as I can, because I don’t have a better one right now. However, at the same time I am surrounded by several slackers who in some ways hinder me from doing my job faster and more efficiently.
Of course, these are people who don't care so much about their jobs and who can probably find a new job easier than me, if nothing else, because of their age. I wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble, but their unprofessional behavior is affecting my performance.

Once they got rid of performance based Evals and went to 2% raises for everyone, people’s performances and attitudes declined. I have a co-worker that calls off and leaves early all the time, and every time he does it puts me behind because we now have to do twice as much because he is absent so much. But he doesn’t care. He uses every second of his ppto and screws us all. He literally either calls off or leaves super early at least once a week. Disgusting and frustrating.

I have a hard time working with several people in my department. One older lady is the absolute messiest worker, dropping food on the floor and instead of wiping it up she steps in it, disgusting. Her work coat arms drop into the food she is preparing, and she walks items to the case like that, sauce from enchiladas and mac n cheese mixed together. a newer associate likes to talk and is the type that can not use her arms while her lips are moving, so slow! Another doesnt wash pans as she goes, she throws all the utensils in the sink and leaves them there. I just want to work alone because I get more done.
