How hard was it for you to find a new job? I finally feel free. I gave notice and for me this company is soon a thing of the past. I spent months looking for a job. I sent out many, many applications and in the end what helped me the most was expanding my network.
Follett squeezed me to the max, but now it’s finally over. I am definitely much happier now than I was when I got the job here and when I had high expectations from this company.

Good Luck to all that are looking - get out while you can.
Life is better on the outside.
Question for those that found something elsewhere - is it something different from what you've been doing i.e. retail or was it still within retail? I'm looking myself but I find myself pigeonhole with retail. The college bookstore industry is all I've ever done (since my junior year in high school). I'd really like to get out of the retail environment but that requires skills and/or degrees I don't have.
Just had a phone interview today. Hopefully it went well! Follett hasn’t been all bad for me but this Fall Rush was no bueno! Time for a change! Good luck everyone, to those looking and staying!
Me first. That is the lesson I learned after being let go after 20+ years on a random Tuesday. Unprepared, it was a hard lesson. Friends who were still employed who were looking had current resumes, skillsets and LinkedIn profiles. They were comfortable interviewing in today's market. Many found jobs before I did. When the layoff or outsourcing happens the local job market can be temporarily swamped with your peers who were also let go. Often you end up competing for the same open roles. Congratulations to those who have take the proactive steps to prep and look outside.
I’m looking too. Had an interview and I’m considering a change. Running a store on a skeleton crew isn’t working for me.
You call it whining and complaining, I call it the way I see it. I really felt sorry for HR, no matter how many times you go and complain about management, there would be no follow-up because nobody would have HR's back. Why address the problem when the person addressing the problem is the problem.
@1moe+1cFvdaRO fo I have your permission to continue to celebrate the slow unraveling of this poorly run company?
Great! Hopefully that means you all will move on and stop whining and complaining on this forum.
I’m on the way out the door soon as well. I’ve been looking for a while, and finally something came along. There are some coworkers I’ll miss, who busted their butts working for this miserable company, and tried to make the best of a lousy support structure.
On the other hand, I will not miss the co--y attitudes of senior management and their detachment from the reality of being in the stores. It will be refreshing to not have to stare at walls of dead books everyday and be reminded of poor decision making at the top.
Congratulations! I’m looking now.
I put my notice in on Tuesday. My last day of the 24th. The countdown is on.
Congratulations!! That’s wonderful. Be free
