Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Anybody Mobilizing #OracleToo yet?

I for one just want to see all the stories. The best was this past yearly cycle where took employees true ratings and knocked them down a peg. In Support you earned a 4 you magically became a 3. A 3 a 2. You were told your true rating but then were informed a director or higher capped the number of higher performers. To encourage attrition I suppose.

Still, the same occurred at every level and every business line of Development and Support. The cloud numbers are all fabricated and even if they sell any of that garbage product rhe innovation, maintenance and Support will be beyond a joke.

At this point it is simply funny what this formerly decent company has become. A penny-pinching has-been.

Oracle is a waste of your time. There is no remedy for the company. The management is made up of leftovers. Good people quit over time, and the sc-m that's left holding the bag has no idea what they are doing. It's a dump.

Clown is too, too good a word for the management.

You will never be rewarded at Oracle, because. Your compensation is what you bargained for whey you joined. They do not want to give you cost of living increases, that hurts the bottom line. Training, as I was told when I joined, it is up to you, everything is available, you have to figure it out and training is online, multiple guess, and on your own time, not companies time. The performance based cr-p.....I learned long ago it is a joke. I spoke with EVPs about it. It does not matter. It must be done, or they will cut you loose. But it is not "looked" at. I found the secret, you take last years details, forms etc. adjust the dates, change a project name here and there, replace the references who have left with others you know. And everyone gives you a "5" and it has no effect on your salary and rarely on your title. Volunteer for additional work, they will load you up, with no increase in salary. After several years, if you have been valuable enough, you can scream and ask for stock RSU grants. Which they vest over time to pretend they are "golden" handcuffs.

"F--k you for your 'performance based compensation'. it's a lie."

Couldn't agree more. I've put in more effort, produced better results, had more output, and generally moved in the right direction on pretty much everything that should matter over the last year. And my reward? Rating of "2". First time in my life, from any job, getting a less than meets expectations assessment.

When boss informed me of this, and asked for my thoughts, my response without much hesitatation was along the lines of "I don't care. Should I? What does that rating even have to do with anything that matters?". Manager response was predictably useless, as he really couldn't offer a rebuttal with any substance.

Eff this stupid company. Eff this job. And efF all these manager clowns. Useless fukers.

What goes around, comes around. I'm too old to get another job in this industry. They want kids who will put in 70 hours a week in other companies. So I will sit here in my current unrewarded position. 40 hours. that's it. If my choice not to work unpaid OT causes delays and problems for the customers, it's not my problem. I come in, do my job and that's it. I'm not training new folks. They have so many people leaving that they can not beg people to come to my unit anyway. Why should they transfer in? it's twice the work for absolutely zero extra money.
F--k you for your 'performance based compensation'. it's a lie.

It doesn’t matter anyhow. What’s it going to change? ORCL doenst give raises. No bonuses. Promote “title-only.” Zero training. No stock options. Smallest tech 401k match out there. They don’t even give out “atta boy” and “atta girl” s if empty positive reinforcement is your thing.

Oh, they do give out digital badges. You can cash that in for a digital kick in the stones.
