CTC to simplify

Good news is we plan to simplify processes by starting 6 new focus initiatives, with 19 new sponsors and owners, who are now holding meeting to define stakeholders and select implementation teams. Expect the workforce surveys to start shortly, and then the real action will begin. NOT!

I thought CTC 'simplified' in the Transformation? That they didn't means that it's just the same-old, tired old re-shuffling of the seats on the Titanic. Next step will be to call in Boston Consulting or McKenzie to advise on yet another impractical reorganization. Lots of smoke and mirrors, by that time EB will have moved on to her next promotion and CTC will be somebody else's problem.

The earth science chapters have been treading water for a year without any work or direction. Most of them are doing external professional society work, like the Fellowes.

EB is smart enough to know that the best way to look like you're proactively 'shaking things up' is to start all kinds of initiatives which will draw away the management from any responsibility for actual project work. This has been her 'signature' for almost all of her career in management. Meanwhile, CTC petrotechs will continue to twiddle their thumbs, hoping some billable work comes in.

CTC is starting the Transformation TuneUp process to tweak it for perfection now that JG is out. It will take time but be worth it eventually. Stand by a survey of your ideas.
