Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Climate crisis ignored by WF

While watching all the hurricanes, fires, rising temps, severe droughts, etc., one thing is clear.

Collectively, we have to do better.
All of us. Corporations included.

We know it's too late to save the planet that we've known and abused for so long. We know countless species and habitats will be dead and gone. Humans have failed miserably.

But will earth even be habitable? Are greed, denial and apathy more powerful than the will to survive?

How can corporations turn their backs on low-hanging fruit of working remotely to help reduce emissions? Sc--w the employees (which they often do), what about the planet???

We need to lead by example, not wait for Mother Nature or other forces to mandate change. This shouldn't even be up for debate. Can we all do the right thing FOR ONCE in our lives?!

  1. s. Anyone who sneers at this post is heartless. If you're not moved by the devastation we're ALL seeing around us, you're selfish and dead inside.

@1uxa+1cBTYWFj, the OP is posting off topic but it's not political.

Science isn't political, it's mostly math and math doesn't care how you vote.

Hey guys, you're on the internet!

It's works using laser beams shot through fiber optic cables and with satelites in outer space, and those use quantum theory just to keep time!

To you climate change deniers it must seem like magic!

It's not.

So when you diss science and say climate change isn't real, we kind of laugh at you.

Well, we laugh until floods and wildfires and more powerful storms start ki----g people.

Then we tell you to grow up.

Guy who definitely understands science thinks there were hurricanes and wildfires before there were protons lol

What he said “ I know this is new information, but we had hurricanes and wild fires and hot temperatures before there was even humans on this planet”.

SINCE THE BIG BANG

Mankind has never lived more comfortably on a ever changing planet in an ever changing universe.

Actually I thought they had survived by turning a blind eye to the poppy trade but I'm sure there's more to it than that. As for 'my agenda', I don't have one. It was meant as an innocuous statement rather than some political thing or whatever you're talking about. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar as they say.

The money was flowing to Afghanistan a long time ago. How do you think the Ta----n survived? More from Russia than China I suspect because they were there long before us.

But I’m sure those facts didn’t fit your agenda, just like the fact that the failures of the Reagan-Bush era started this mess and brought us bin Laden and his ilk with a grudge against the US.

It is almost too late to reverse it. There is a reason they are building sea walls in New York, Miami, etc. because they know the tidal wave of seas rose is coming inland. Only a temporary fix.

Meanwhile the policeman’s and the rich line their pockets and ignore the science. Gee, sounds familiar. The same folks do this with the pandemic.

Humanity deserves its fate.

Lithium mining is more devastating to the ecology and climate then carbon emission will ever be. Just do a Goog image search for Lithium mines to see your Tesla's impact on world.

Here's a fun fact. Go take a look at Tesla's annual reports and you'll see they make most of their profits selling carbon credits (regulatory credits as they're technically called) to other companies who need them so they can create more pollution. The whole system is rigged towards profits and my guess would be that won't change.

It's kind of like being a lifelong smoker then complaining that you have lung cancer. Go and write your local politician so they can get donations from special interest groups or whatever they do these days. Nothing on a layoff site will make any difference.

"too late to save the planet". Of course they have to say that since they said we only had ten years to save planet like 20 years ago. Ridiculous fear pushing. Try and actually get a prediction right for a change.

I know this is new information, but we had hurricanes and wild fires and hot temperatures before there was even humans on this planet. There are many things we can do to clean up the environment, and instead we flush trillions down the "climate change" toilet.

Serious question: considering that climate has never been static in the planets history, when will we be able to declare victory in this allegedly urgent war against climate change? Answer: never, because it's not really about the climate at all.

Why don't you go email your gov't reps, this is a layoff board. Companies and banks just live within a regulator framework, in fact they might even get in trouble for breaking the law for denying loans. It would blow your mind the amount of regulation there is, banking is heavily regulated and doesn't play fast and loose.

You need to worry about China and India, not the USA. They are the countries raping the planet daily.

Climate change is just a tax incentive for Wells and other corporations, they don't really care.
