Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

US Managers must get the jab - or you're out. Just communicated.

Just recv'd a News Now document about the jab. It included an updated FAQ link. As of 8/27 they're now saying failure to get the jab, or have an approved exemption - it's a COBC violation and you're terminated. So - get the jab, if you have lasting side effects it should be a workman's comp claim. Good luck all - I'm out in September!

Our org is all WFH and we were told must be vaccinated or have an approved exception regardless if we are WFH. Our VP sent a note which read the same

I'm all for getting the covid vaccine where it makes sense, got mine 6 momths ago because I'm over 50. BUT, I'm 100% against mandatory vaccines!

The unvaccinated pose very low risk to the vaccinated, contrary to what the media want you to believe.
But mainly, folks think this is just about this one covid vaccine, wake up!
Dr-g manufacturers have wanted mandatory vaccines for many years, they needed this pandemic to get enough public support, and once the policies and framework are in place, they'll be pushing many more vaccines and boosters (that you may or may not need) into the pipeline.
If they are successfull with making this covid vaccine mandatory, you will lose your choice on what future dr-gs are pumped into your body, or your grandbabies bodies.

Knowing the ethics of our dr-g manufacturers, this is a very dangerous road we're heading down...

The unions are negotiating right now to make it mandatory that craft gets the jab. They would love to keep the fear alive. The left is doing right now to keep mail in voting. IBEW in Illinois stopped all union meetings to keep any opposition from running against the incumbents.”

And just where are you getting this info from ? Please don’t say the last sentence on that news now email .

Or you could get out. So many choices.

Don't fault the company. They are only looking out for the owners. The risk of covid is high. This relates to increase cost of medical, since they pay the bills, employee benefits for sick leave or days missed by management, not to mention the loss of productivity and possible reduced revenue that pays everyone.

For the one that said “Nowhere does it say you will be terminated” you are incorrect. You must click the link to FAQ and there it does say, more than once, that you COULD be terminated. It doesn’t say you will, but it also doesn’t say you won’t.

Or don't get vaccinated and let us know what happens. It's your choice.

nothing special about that communication and nothing different than previous communications. Nowhere does it say you will be terminated.

Some of the junk people post on this page is unbelievable and intentionally misleading. Read it for yourself. Never trust ANYTHING on this site.

For those that signed up for covid perks on the HR website, did you get some kind of new pass card to get into the office? I think they will “turn off” everyone’s card on Oct 11 if you don’t activate covid perks. Is that what you read in the FAQ?

Whelp...been fun and made a lot of money through the years.

The day AT&T knows better about my personal health through a blanket, one-size fits all policy is my last day...which seems to be coming up Oct. 11, apparently. Exemptions, either medical or religious; it's none of their damn business.

all you teleworkers without the jab, you're one mandatory office meeting away from being fired. consider that.

The cobc reference has been in the policies since 8.17. The policy applies to all mgrs regardless of if you wfh not just those going into the office. Read the faqs.

The policy applies to all managers, but the policy says you have to jab under only two circumstances.... 1. You go to the office. 2. You attend a company function onsite or offsite. There are only two exemptions.... 1. Medical exemption. 2. Religious exemption. Per one of the prior respondents, if you don't go to the office or attend any events in person, you don't have to get the jab or attest and are therefore following the policy.

Today’s News Now and link to FAQ actually said, if you don’t get vaccinated or approved job accommodation AND you come to the office after Oct 11, you are in violation and could be terminated. I know it’s semantics but, the way it’s worded, if you’re unvaccinated and work from home you’re NOT in violation. Somehow it feels like a trap...

I haven’t seen this new announcement, but ok. I’m also not seeing anything about hospitals being overrun with people who’ve had vaccine complications.

But I have seen a lot about tired medical workers, families of unvaccinated people looking for ECMO machines, and poisoning from people repurposing animal medicines.

The company made its position clear and if you don’t agree, find employment elsewhere. Looking forward to departure from the company and hoping your decision doesn’t lead to taking an ICU bed away from someone who needs it.
