Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Frederick, MD RTO

C1,C2,C3 leases expire(d)

Starting Labor Day, force employees to RTO but only ‘100’ a week because we don’t have the space or project managers to manage this mess.

Force employees to RTO, even if they worked from home - pre pandemic.

Progress towards attrition made.

Take how you like but the writing is on the wall its only time before Fredrick is no longer. Get out of this toxic environment as soon as you can!!!

We’ve been told the lease isn’t being renewed since AT LEAST 2013. I can’t keep stressing myself out about it.

To the former poster, the high ups are sending everyone back into office with the idea that anyone not in hub, will be laid off. It doesn't matter how important your job is to the company, the high ups don't care and believe we are all dispensable. The new policy appears to be:
WF knows you are able to work from home but will not allow it permanently. Therefore, not in hub, you will be let go. Especially sad for Frederick because Frederick was the mortgage operation when Norwest came in. Wells Fargo/Norwest did not have a big mortgage operation prior to that.

Our team has heard it from someone very high up that the lease is not being renewed and ends in the fall of 2022. Take from that what you will but it makes sending us back into this office for a year only to transition back to remote more puzzling. I guess bonus if a few people quit and we can avoid some severance!

The cost of living in Frederick is comparable to Charlotte, NC. Personally I couldn't afford to relocate anywhere but DSM unless they paid more money. But they won't.

This isn’t new news. That was starting prior to COVID site closures. This is what C building is becoming. A and B buildings are set to be attached to bio manufacturing facilities.

I wouldn’t be shocked if A and B eventually get returned to Matan whether it’s this year or in the next year or two. It’s only a matter of time. Higher cost center for labor, higher real estate expenses for the location, and a lot of redundancy in operations that can be absorbed by LOBs that already have a presence at other locations with similar functions.

I have a feeling that this tactic will fail if everyone stands their ground

Nobody cares. The people making these decisions sit in their plush offices and large homes and work whereever they want. The new rto rules will not impact them.
