Elbow rating

What’s the new lower elbow rating? Did it change from the past?

@moi+1c1dJN1j, People like you are the reason the word racist is thrown around so cavalierly. You provided some good information here, and then tainted it with the most improperly used word in modern times. Don't confuse biased with racist you ninny.

When I sit with my manager and we go over the 9 block rating, I feel like I'm at a car dealership paying too much for a car that I've got to have. Feels really sleazy.

Some people are just obsessed with race. That's not what is going on at this company. They are equal opportunity a-s kickers.

Treating anyone different based on race is the definition of racism. The direction of that bias is not relevant. Somebody is being harmed.

The point is that the high number of reviews that must be written forces Managers to rely on less objective information and emphasizes cultural bias and sterotypes.
An academic paper is needed to study evidence of bias as a function of direct-reports-per manager.

@moi+1c1dJN1j: I don't get your claim that this system is 'racist'. I'd venture that it is the opposite -- people of color less likely to get thrown in the elbow. Company doesn't want to fight racism claims or lawsuits. No, what you have here is age discrimination pure and simple. The company has no qualms about pipping and RIF'ing old-timers. They've elevated the phony employee evaluation descriptions to an art form. How does anyone prove they aren't the complete slug that your manager's description of you just painted?

I think the layout depicted may be incorrect, unless is has changed from 2020

It has not changed.
Block rating is performance vs behavior

[ 1 ][ 4 ][ 7 ]
[ 2 ][ 5 ][ 8 ]
[ 3 ][ 6 ][ 9 ]

Any rating of 3,6,9,7,8,9 will earn you a pip. (Outer L)
There is a quota for ratings.
The rating assignments show massive age, race, gender, and disability bias across honeywell. This bias is so pronounced they have banned looking at it.
Example -- people with a high bmi are 10 times more likely to be in outer L.
Females are far less likely to be in outer L. All adjusted for employee count.
Hire more skinny females?

schoolyard employee ranking systems like this are systemically racist and should be removed from business mainstream. The alternatives are not as efficient since they require real ownership of decisions at lower levels of the organization and require more managers. When everyone is a "senior manager" you can't have real relationships. This high employee/mgr ratio forces mgrs to fall on bias when scoring employees and drives racist results. Does not matter what the race of the Mgr happens to be as that just expresses different bias. The root cause is the lack of managers and other 3rd party opinions.
