Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Vaccine or mask?

Curious what others' thoughts are on the recent return-to-plant communications: "voluntarily show us your vaccination proof which will unlock privileges such as no mask requirement"?

There could be many reasons someone doesn't get a vaccine. I'm kind of surprised it's actually gone this far (segregation based on vaccination requirements).

Please please please don't turn this into a pro-vaccine or anti-vaccine discussion. I'm not interested.

@brag This was my first week back. Most folks did not have masks, but there were a few that did. I went to the nurse first day back and got my green badge holder so I could dump my mask. Does not really look like anyone is social distancing though. The mask thing really seems like a non-issue to me.

Were there many wearing masks this first week back in the office?

With all the details coming out about the coverup of the origin of the virus and who funded it -- little wonder that Dr. Doom has not been on TV lately! So much for the scaremongering over the "deadly" variants too.

Even this site is moderated by cancel culture. I made a post about the clown doctors with their zoom backgrounds and it gets taken down. You can tell they are lying, it is obvious, makes anyone run away from the vaccine. The question that got me was when someone said they got super sick after the first shot, out for weeks, and should they take the 2nd shot? Reading from their d-mb script, they told the employee, yes take the 2nd shot even if it takes you out. Clown doctors. Not getting the vaccine, will not wear a mask.

The choice to vaccinate or not is my business, not Honeyhell’s. We got one skimpy email about a merger with very little information and every other email we get from Corporate is woke garbage and get vaccinated so you can have a green badge and stand next to people email.

There will be two lines for donuts on "Essential Worker Celebration Day". The one for green lanyard people will have fresh donuts and smiling corporate bimbo servers, and the people in masks will be in more of a funnel leading to a door called "The Great Egress".

I’m opposed to these pigs being into my personal decisions. Vac or no, it’s my business. Can I just buy a green ID cove to match the Sneetches with stats on their bellies?

Those at the Nuremberg Trials also said, "I need to do what it’s needed to support my family".

I voluntarily showed them a fake card and got my green lanyard. No vax, no mask. I made the decision to return to my definition of normal.

@1auv+1bzuEyGh It appears that the vaccine provides more immunity than an infection. A different story said that the vaccine immunity was more intense and would probably last longer.

https://directorsblog.nih.gov/2021/06/22/how-immunity-generated-from-covid-19-vaccines-differs-from-an-infection/

Now, a new NIH-supported study shows that the answer to this question will vary based on how an individual’s antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 were generated: over the course of a naturally acquired infection or from a COVID-19 vaccine. The new evidence shows that protective antibodies generated in response to an mRNA vaccine will target a broader range of SARS-CoV-2 variants carrying “single letter” changes in a key portion of their spike protein compared to antibodies acquired from an infection.

These results add to evidence that people with acquired immunity may have differing levels of protection to emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants. More importantly, the data provide further documentation that those who’ve had and recovered from a COVID-19 infection still stand to benefit from getting vaccinated.

It's really none of their fu----g business. I have done the right thing, but why does Honeywell think they have the right to know my personal business? They don't give a sh-t about my personal welfare.

It's telling that those with acquired immunity are not considered equals with those who took the non-FDA approved jabs.

BTW, there is no scientific study that shows that non-N95 masks do anything of consequence to stop the spread of viruses like COVID, but they do show medical and psychological harm from wearing them. I'll stick with the science.

Most agree covid, and variants, pose a threat. To act responsibly Hon has to take some action which some will support and some will oppose. An intelligent person will agree that Hon has to protect employees where it can. If it does not and an outbreak occurs, there will be potential legal actions alleging negligence. They have to walk a fine line between preserving employees choice and protecting them from a potentially lethal threat. That is a hard balance to achieve and will never satisfy everyone. Intelligent people will understand this and cut them a little slack. I wear a mask for the protection of others, not myself. Just my choice, and not a big inconvenience to me.

Either wear a mask or don’t. Just show up work and go home. Keep your opinions to yourself. No need to justify here

Why does the reason someone can’t or won’t get a vaccine even matter? The policy is not about that - it’s about trying to keep covid from spreading at work.

It’s really that simple. But a lot of folks try to make it way more than what it is.

With the variants, it’s probably back to everyone masking anyway.

Think of the vaccine as ppe. If an employee could not/would not wear hearing protection, where they could go in a plant would be limited. This is not different. Like hearing protection, there is no external sign that some can/will not get one, so the only other option is to treat everyone as unvaccinated and we would all have to wear masks.

If you see the masks and vaccination as ppe, then we are simply being given a choice which ppe to use and visibly showing which ppe we choose. Some choose both forms, some choose one.

And yeah, dishonest people are just hiding their badge and going unmasked at our site too. It's not a perfect system.
