So you don't remember the speeches about "Facebook and Google are so profitable because they get to use all the data that WE are carrying. We should be more profitable because we have ALL the data!"

Yes! I remember the workforce 2020 training focused on how we could beat Over The Top services by focusing on becoming the next Google.

It was a shift in data privacy laws that kept AT&T from making this goal a reality. Once the FCC put limits on the type and ount of data we could keep, it was game over for Xandr, Chief Data Office, and Warner Media. Remember the time Stankey said that we would be the only ones who knew who was in a room watching an ad play on their TV? Can't do that if you can't collect all of the data!
