Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Moved without being consulted?

That shouldn’t be happening but it is happening. In case this happens to me again, I will give notice because it is really disrespectful and unprofessional. I just wonder how often this happens and why do they do it that way? It is horrible what this place has turned into...

Long-term expertise is never respected at USB. Re-orgs is what middle management specializes in. This must fool their bosses into thinking that they are doing something.

Happened to me twice in the past 18 months. Now I’m in a team that’s struggling to work efficiently because of alignment issues with our partners from other departments. My team started out all excited for the change. Nowadays the team is not even hiding the disappointment from their faces and mostly quiet unless they need to talk. Been with the bank nearly a decade and hadn’t witnessed blatant rudeness in meetings until I got moved. I’m looking for a new job now, hopefully find a place where people respect each other.

I can think of one high quality person that was moved, never consulted, 4 times in a single year. USB is not a place to put down roots. Low pay, high stress, lots of hours, no respect. Management doesn't care for one second about actual workers. RIF waiting for all of them.

People at US Bank are treated like chess pieces. Management looks at anyone at the bottom of their org charts like pawns. As long as your compensation does not exceed some arbitrary amount, you can be moved around wherever they need bodies. Every year there is a cut list and it's a cr-p shoot. There are usually 2 or 3 Reorgs per year and lots of managers are dropped in that process. I figured as long as I did the job I was assigned on the bottom rung, I'd be OK. I was wrong. I will say it got worse when Davis left. All that stuff about caring for the people went out the window when Cecere took over. Now it seems like nobody is safe. Every American job that can be outsourced or automated is being eliminated as quickly as possible. Get out as quickly as you can and find a small company that respects you as a person.
