That is, can it be worse? Once upon a time people here could be optimistic and had a positive mindset, they worked with more zeal because the company seemed to be moving forward. By contrast, now the only thing I can think about is what their next bad move is and how far are we from the rock bottom?

Actually, on the business field services side of T, it's been more union and less contractors. More union than you would have ever expected even with the debtload T is carrying!
Stankey will buy fiber internet from municipalities, therefore, completing his argument that local government has no business in fiber and should leave that to the private sector.
Then, 1-2 years later, Stankey figures out the Fiber isn't a profitable business and requires huge capital investment. Sell the business to Google at a huge loss and claim success for cutting debt.

Selling mobility to Microsoft.
AT&T wireless becomes an MVNO of T-Mobile. The company no longer has the skills to run a network, but the business operations folks can keep working on billing, advertising, and social justice without any interruption.
Using AT&T technicians to rely on for fiber infrastructure build. Using union labor will cost the company. Contract that sh-t out so it’s paid by the job.
Return to Office: Go back to the old policy that employees must bring in their own t o i l e t paper. But that is ok, I refuse to shake hands with anyone at the office anyway, as recommended by the CDC. Definitely a good practice, as there is no hand soap supplied either!
Employees will have to pay a monthly fee to offset cleaning costs related to the pandemic.
Please, don't give Catbert, the EVIL Blondie HR Director, or Stinky any ideas.
Stankey will buy Frontier,p then buy all landlines from VZ. He will then have a monopoly on landlines.
ATT will start charging employees a surcharge on their health insurance if the employee could have been on another health insurance, such as their spouse's.
T will force management employees on Obamacare to save on benefit costs
: @1sob+1bw530FL Don't worry, there is always time for "Leadership" to phuck up some more. They will, they will.
To : @1sob+1bw530FL, you really are a Ki$$a$$ creep, no doubt about it!
I wonder what the next whine will be here. Not the same old, tiredwhine from years ago but something new.
It was never safe working for T! Been with T for over 35 years and constantly had the threat of “lay-off” looming over my head...it was never ending, but I survived! This company has been unstable ever since the judge broke it up in 1984! Then, they started making one bad decision after another trying to reinvent itself, unsuccessfully sad to say! So, if you were employed prior to that, then yes, there was something to be optimistic about!
The next move will be for Stankey to say that T is "sub-scale" in some area and so he needs to rev up the M&A again.
It will be the usual pattern of buy at the peak, mismanage, sell low, blame someone else, change the topic.
I doubt T has hit rock bottom yet. As long as Stankey is CEO, things will only get worse. He has too much contempt for the employees, the most important asset in the company.
Stankey will get unchecked decision and strategy making. AT&T will be caught on ethical issues involving the illegal accessing of customer records.
