Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

July 9 Donlen car return??????

We were told on April 9 in a very informal email that we had 90 days to our return company car and to fill out a Word document checklist to complete the return. Since April 9 none of our Auto team has heard anything more regarding company car return and when I called the Donlen Allstate line for a quote last week the rep said she had heard nothing about this mass return of vehicles.

For such a significant expense asset I thought we'd receive more communication, formal processing and reporting on this return process if it's a countrywide initiative. So I guess my question is, did others with a company vehicle receive a similar communication in April and have you heard any further updates (of any kind) since?

Some peers that went to different managers post-RIF say they've not heard a word about company cars still even though they've been moved to full-time inbound while others said their managers are now saying to hang on to the cars because we may be back in the field after July 6

There have been reports on here of tow trucks showing up and towing with no warning and no notification. I’d remove personal items or anything you might need to keep from the car NOW.

Welcome to Allstate I’ll be your guide. I returned mine in Spring (I was sick of paying for Allstates lease in a car I didn’t use). Donlen didn’t call me, one day some fleet company or something did and then a tow truck company called and set a pickup. That’s it. Like most things here I’m sure one day “someone” will call you last minute and demand to pickup your car, like how most things go here

Well they were much more professional with you than us. Earlier this year they told us within 30 day they were coming to get the cars. Almost 30 days to the day they used local towing companies to come and "repo" the company cars. Some in the middle of the night. A few of my peers actually called the police to see if it was Allstate that came to get them (such action has to be on file with most police departments in most areas) or if they were stolen.
