Proton mail VPN doesn’t log and is hosted Sweden where they are immune from these lawsuits. It is free for 1 device with a proton mail account. They have paid options that support streaming and ad blocking and allow for more devices on the one VPN account.
If you use a VPN make sure that it is the type that anonymizes your connection and doesn't keep server logs. Don't use Chrome or any of the Microsoft browsers and make sure that they clear your browser history every time they are closed or browse in a new Private Tab. Also, stay away from Google-Bing and use a software utility to clean your PC before shutting down each day.
Keep in mind you are never anonymous on the internet, even with a VPN account. If you make someone angry enough by defaming them by name on a website, they can file a lawsuit and get a court order to have the internet service provider and/or VPN account holder to give up the information that is easily traceable back to your device.
Then the lawsuit may follow against you. Don't be that guy and no I am not from HR.

Your angry and powerless boss is a product of the environment. They know nothing and have no more control than you do.
