Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

What does "more dedication" mean?

I just heard someone’s manager saying he expected more dedication from that person. Well, that's what I heard about myself from my manager. He told me that even after I worked harder than ever, put in more effort than ever, gave 200 percent of myself...
So now I wonder, what does that even mean to them? Does that mean I absolutely have to subordinate my whole life to Mondelez? Interestingly, those whose work is very sloppy, the manager seems perfectly satisfied with.

To whoever asked this question:

I average 5-6 stops per day.

dont you find it ironic now, we aren't heroes or essential anymore even though our working conditions have gone down instead of improving?

I totally understand this post. I can say during the pandemic I fell off. My worry for my family, personal issues, etc. all overtook my job. The job was taking a back seat to everything else (to a certain extent as it should). But now that is (mostly) over. I've refocused on the job. Especially now putting 50 hours plus most weeks, I've worked my bu-t off. But somehow it's not enough. Can there be things I improve on? Sure, but that's not what they tell me. They just simply say "more."

It gets old. The only plus side is the OT is (as another commenter said) more lucrative than the monthly bonuses, when they are attainable.

My boss makes me close my eyes and suck dedication out of a hose in a backroom of Walmart. Boss says I am very dedicated.

Lol, more dedication? It's hard to care when the monthlies are a joke, easier to make more off OT. Quarterly are becoming impossible to hit. Lack of store service, hard to sell when there is no one to put it on the shelf or build. My days are tapped out with throwing cases so there is not a whole more I can do. The yearly raises are complete garbage so not incentive there either. Cradling the terrible workers while pushing the good ones. It's hard to care when management does not seem to themselves.

It means you have to neglect yourself and your family to ONLY serve Mondelez.

They really want to "own" you fully and completely.

A group of really sick people from the top down.

Yep, our manager favors all the slackers.

He's very hard on the good employees.

When I've called him out on his biased behaviors, he tells me about the slackers, "we need them."

Excuse me???

No you id--t, you need the good workers, but I guess you think the good workers, which are all the long term employees, really, really need this job, so you can treat the good workers like sh-t, and baby and coddle the bad workers, cause that's who you need???

Um, okay...

Yes it means you have to be unquestionably loyal and subordinate to Mondelez. They know whats best for you! They let you live. They own you! Stop being so undedicated and make a vow to dedicate yourself to our Lord and Savior Mr. Oreo. Never question Mondelez again!
