Thoughts on why Honeywell has so many open and unfilled positions?

I think you have hit on one of honeywells key metrics.
No American need apply!
Lots of job openings that never get filled helps with the visa approval process.
Seriously>?> What a JOKE! HW lays off like 20,000 people because leaders are afraid of losing out on yearly retention bonuses. So, now they are "fake news" hiring to make the sham look better or lipstick on a pig!
4648 lucky people gave their notice and are now enjoying the greener grass, even more to come before end of Q2
A cosmetic thing that is no indicator of anything of substance. Many organizations I remember posted "vacancies" nonstop up until the day they collapsed.
It's simple. Honeywell's well earned reputation for low pay, laughable benefits, corrosive culture, "yes" men and women in management, and lack of promortions speak volumes. The company would also rather spend billions buying back stock to artificially inflate the price for HUGE executive bonuses than spend any money on top talent, modern facilities, and innovation. The company would rather limp along with legacy products that don't work and shrinking market share. Darius (CEO) and his cronies talk a good game. But, when it comes to down to the brass tacks, they have zero substance.
Some of these “job openings” are there to appease the tax breaks from the state and hit their metric… coughcharlottecough
They are pipeline requisitions. Not jobs intended to be filled immediately. Ask any manager if they have the authority to send an offer to a candidate right now. You can't do it until HR gives their blessing. Who knows how long that will be. Probably until next year.
4000 job openings is not a huge number.
This is below the current attrition and turnover rate which indicates the company is still looking to reduce census. Heck we dump 1000 just from the mask plants.
Next ..... visit the site below with data on graduates by year.

Review the number of diversity graduates with engineering degrees.
This table is the most recent data i could find.
When it says 4000 it means 4000 total souls.
With a stong initiative to only interview diversity candidates our ability to find people is going to be impacted.
Many positions that are posted are never filled, they exist in a theoretical headcount, but until they are actually funded, they just hang in limbo. Even if the position actually exists, it may be held empty until the end of the fiscal year to maintain an appearance of budget keeping
Too easy -- just browse the first 20 threads on this site under Honeywell and you will have your answer.
The HW employee survey was merely a shiny object meant to distract everyone from the underlying core issues that all stem from corporate greed...
