Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

My motivation is as good as gone

I can't get myself to do much beyond what is strictly necessary because I don't see a point in it anymore. Why try when the chances are higher of me being laid off before the end of this year than not? When the chances of me getting hit by a bolt of lightning are higher than me receiving a promotion? With that combination, I'm surprised our overall productivity is not much lower...

In the movie, Dorothy gets knocked out by a flying window during the cyclone scene.

She eventually lands in Oz but by the movie’s end, she wakes up in her bed with her family surrounding her.

This reassures the viewer that the whole ordeal was simply a dream.

New Brand, STOP it already. Changing the LOGO, changing the color doesn't change the company.

To thev person who said "I was WFR in January 2021 after 20+ years with CSC/DXC" this is the layoff.com, how about you tell us the company and if there are any other openings? HELP people instead of just complaining how bad DXC is, we already know that!

If you don't like people painting their truthful current / past experiences of DXC then ignore the thread and go back and do your job at DXC rather than yourself whinging at people possibly painting DXC in a poor / negative life.

Everyone - regardless who they are; is allowed to voice their opinion - as long as it is truthful and isn't defamatory towards 1 or more named individuals.

Why the "likes" on I've escaped DXC and got a much better job" posts?
Is it because the liker thinks :

  • "So glad you left as it may encourage DXC to value me more"
  • "So glad you left and got a better job"

When someone posts a "like", it means nothing outside the small brain of the liker. DXC certainly won't notice it.
If you cling to an idea this board has influence on your life - you're away with the fa----s .

Its very simple - If you don't like it at DXC, don't post pathetic "group think" likes, just LEAVE.

If you don;t leave, accept that the you don't have the guts to do so, so work hard for little pay - that is your destiny, slurp it up loser

I was WFR in January 2021 after 20+ years with CSC/DXC. I found a new job as a PM and am now making $75/hour as a contractor with a company who not only respects their employees, they actually engage them for their opinions and insight on process improvements and get this, they actually listen and make changes. I have already been offered permanent employment with the company and look forward to more opportunity and advancement, imagine that. There is a lot of opportunity out there beyond DXC with better salaries, you just have to go after it.

@aut+1bliONbC is absolutely spot on here. Go where you are celebrated, not tolerated. I've witnessed and taken so much abuse in 4 years that I've quit my job on the spot. No plan B. I could no longer bear to see what I've seen inside DXC.

You're right - you should leave DXC - Don't slam the door on your way out.

"You get paid stupid". Written clearly by either an overfeed exec, a naive grad or a rare breed who get paid well.

"You get paid poorly"
"You get no recognition"
"You get no job security"
"You get taken advantage of"
"You get bullied"

@ukj+1bliONbC you've a lot to learn about people. Start off with Maslow's hierarchy and then maybe a bit of psychology. Maybe you are one of the managers who are responsible for this sad state of DXC? Are you Mike Salvino?

This shiteshow is really not worth of your time, energy or your self-esteem. As someone who got laid off back in September of last year, I can tell you it really was an ice-breaker to get a new position where I am now valued and appreciated as a colleague (unlike the theatre they now proclaim on their website and promo videos LOL).

I can't speak for all regions but at least here in Europe, recruiters and other tech companies actually seem to RECOGNISE the VALUE you can bring with your experience from DXC (not kidding).

As I have talked to so many ex-CSC/HPE folks out there, one imagine is still stuck in my head. A colleague of mine (who used to be a country manager in my region) had been once told by a C-level executive during a summer retreat with Mike V1 the following lines:

"You need to understand that CSC is like a Swiss Cheese. Those who do understand the system find a way to get out of the holes while the vast majority will be stuck in there until they leave, retire or get laid off. And if you happen to be one of the few who can get out of the holes, you can do a lot. Deal with this reality, or better leave the company."

I think that says everything and is a perfect representation of what I have experienced in the last four years.

Heres the motivation - put up, shut up and work real hard for peanuts.
because theres ten times more people who want your job, for 5 times less than you are paid. They're 20 years younger, hungrier and smarter than you .

You're real lucky to be still here

"you get paid stupid - that is your motivation" no it doesn't work that way. I need to feel that I am helping, that the company values my input. Snce no pay increase after 7+ years while the VP's , CEO keeps getting super high salary, stock options and not having to wait till July / August to get them I say DUCK (replace the D with an F) the company.

My wife's US company had to do some layoffs, but the executives, all took pay cuts and no bonuses till they got back on there feet. This year my wife who is not an executive got a $2,000 bonus, a 8 % pay raise . So some companies care

FOUND!

Motivation.

Small in need of its owner. Maybe 6 months old. Found inside an abandoned CEO 'all hands' Microsoft teams call. Undernourished and may have been badly treated over the years. Answers to the name of "inspiration". We've given it a pay rise and its now able to stand.

If it is yours please call 1-703-245-3000

Motivation is triggered by different things for different people. For some, like you, maybe it is money. Where I work, Graduates focus on the money side to be able to get onto the housing ladder. Others focus on career progression and promotion. If they don't see such in 9-12 months, they leave. More experienced people want job satisfaction, a challenge or want a sense that their work is valued, which could be a thank you or a pay rise - but in that sense it is the feeling someone appreciates and recognises what you do.

I felt the same way when I worked for DXC. Staring through the window wondering what I did wrong in my life to cause me to end up at DXC - a company that never seemed to be able to get its act together. Working under the Sword of Damocles, watching your back, the politics of people who fear losing their own job and thus wish to place blame elsewhere. It just takes it toll on your mental health.

Do as the DXC CEO advises for everyone who doesn't like working there and "leave". If everyone who hates working there actually left then the morale problem would go away!

But so would the workforce. Hmm. He hasn't thought that through, has he?

Basically everyone at dxc longer than a year or 2 does the bare min. It’s in the culture.

You get paid for turning up - what you actually do whilst you are here appears to be a negotiation with your line manager ....
