The quote was frankly taken out of context. What he stated was if municipalities are given funding to overbuild broadband in communities where existing infrastructure is already in place, that would not be a wise investment.
This was a strategic bill passed. It’s premature to conclude that tax dollars invested to provide much needed broadband in sorely needed areas of the country is an example of ‘government supported’ in a negative way. We need only look at NASA as an example of an successful initiative. All government investment is not bad; just as all capitalism is not always good.
How sad is it that people would rather trust government run broadband over a private company, when that company is T.
