Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Honeywell just does this quietly by filtering resumes

Honeywell does this every single day.
Smart enough not to say it out loud.

Hey Honeywell… stand up on CNN and say out loud. “we hire the most qualified person without regard to that person's race, color, religion, s-x (including gender identity, se-ual orientation, and pregnancy), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.” You can put it on some web site but your actions say something different.

If Honeywell did this I would have resumes on my desk. Any resumes? Nope. HR said they had received no qualified candidates. Who decides that? HR?

Be grateful Honeywell didnt hire you. You wouldnt want to work for an employer that mistreats and abuses its employees anyways. This might actually be one of the best things Honeywell has ever done for its would-be employees.

How about people who work in the Phoenix Engines Gear Center, that is being phased out and relocated to HCMO. There have been qualified employees who applied for positions, were made verbal job offers by the hiring supervisor, only to have that offer later rescinded because the hiring manager contacts the gear center’s management and/or HR team, asks for a potential start date for the employee’s new position… and are told that “We do not know when this employee can be released because they are essential to the transition of this facility to Chihuahua, MX and essential to the business here.

Employee who was verbally offered job and awaiting the official written offer so they can digitally accept it, gets a phone call saying that the offer is pulled.

Now other local Honeywell sites and their managers have been told that they are NOT ALLOWED to hires anyone from the gear facility … AT ALL.

All of the gear line employees are expected to stay until the end and are unable to accept new roles… and will likely be laid off when it’s all done????

Find your own candidates. LinkedIn, other companies, network...get off your @$$ and find who you want or go somewhere else where they'll treat you better and do your job for you...

@2nhx, you will find this discussed once or twice among the more recent 20 posts if you sort the list on Active posts, though the post title might not give that impression. There will be your answer. In short: not a chance, and if you are in good health now, you won't be after 6 months in Aero.

But then again, they might hire you as part of a supposedly protected class, so you can be cut in the next RIF.

What is a person's chances of being offered a Engr job in Honeywell's Aero if the person is highly qualified but over the age of 60? I am concerned about age being a determining factor at Honeywell since age issues have been mentioned by other commentators in this thread. My understanding is the majority of Honeywell Aero jobs are in Phoenix Arizona. Is that correct?

This is @OP. i am interviewering individuals from my stack.
The least qualified is local.
I will not be able to offer relocation or remote work options.
Unfortunately i cannot be more specific without identifying myself.

Make your own decision. With no pension or perks i might suggest using honeywell as a stepping stone. You will have gained everything you need in 18 months to 2 years. Plan to jump every two years to advance your salary. Maybe there are cutting edge developer positions in honeywell. At present i am not aware of them.

@2ull, take what you read here very seriously. Less about hiring practices and more about treatment of employees (required unpaid OT is just the tip of the iceberg), bosses having tantrums, corrupt performance rating practices designed to keep raises and bonuses within the directors and above, and on and on. A genuine plan to eliminate all US employees except those at the NC HQ.

Other companies on TheLayoff do not have this level of venting...why do you think we do? Because the horror is real. The worst division for employee abuse is Aero, but the others aren't far behind. If you have one ounce of sense left in your head, please shop your resume elsewhere.

Question for the OP that said "I have 15 resumes to review. 80 percent diversity and 90 percent non local candidates. The req does not offer relocation. Thanks for nothing HR. "

How many out of the 15 Resumes where you actually interested in if not being local was not a factor? I'm looking at applying to Honeywell but don't want to be wasting my time if they are not going to consider my aerospace industry background if I apply to positions that I feel having that experience would make me a well qualified candidate. But if there is games being played by Honeywell HR why bother applying. But I guess there is age limit cuts offs too that Honeywell will use. That would sure be the one that get me.

There is no "reverse discrimination".
It is illegal to consider such things in the hiring process. Period.
Doesnt apply to all fields.
Preferencial treatment by race is actionable. A qualified individual denied an interview would need to be located and theselection criteria reviewed.

The bad reputation keeps the qualified and the competent from applying nowadays. They wanted the bobblehead and the pro-management stooge ... they got 'em.

Sounds like reverse discrimination. Where are the lawsuits?!

Maybe you aren’t receiving any qualified resumes because no one wants to work at Honeywell.

MLK's "content of character" is now verboten in woke corporate America! Only "hyphenated" candidates can get past the gatekeepers. As with several airlines, you will soon have to divulge your Vax status as well...

Heed the warning: "A house divided against itself cannot stand."
