Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Old Wisconsin Bell HQ sold for $30 million.

Any indications or rumors regarding the impact on existing employment levels in Milwaukee? Specific departments or functions?

There is no impact. New owners will be leasing vacant space to new tenants and also leasing existing space back to AT&T. It makes sense - not everything is a conspiracy and all of this info is in the public domain.

"They lucky they got what they did. Old empty building not worth much these days. "

Yep... Downtown office space in most cities is in for a rocky ride post-pandemic, as employers analyze future needs. Many people may not go back to full time in the office for a long time, if ever.

Downsizing office space is going to be a big savings opportunity for many formerly large offices.
