Backroom

So I know there’s been multiple raises that have been given out to various positions this past year so I’m wondering if backroom will be going up from 15? They’re on the same level as team leads so I figured they should be higher than that. Anybody know?

Backroom associates ABSOLUTELY deserve a raise!!!! The amount that is expected of us is ridiculous!!! We are responsible for A LOT of money. We save the Club money in Claims and with accurate receiving processes. No other associates has that kind of responsibility. We pay bills, order club supplies, do MTR's, SWC-311's, the list goes on and on. Not enough time in the day to get everything done. We only have 2 backroom associates at our Club, the other one is used as a merchandiser. He doesn't even know the job since he never does it!!!

I just wish home office would see that the backroom should never have been lumped into 1 dept. claims needs to be by itself . Or bring back 3rd shift so we don’t have to empty the pile every day . Not sure how anyone else’s 2nd shift is, but ours is garbage. They won’t help out with claims, ups, FedEx and they get mad if they have to do more than 1 DC, 1st shift has to do everything, including having to do a DC so we don’t fall behind . Our management staff wonders why we complain or are in bad moods daily ! I know every dept has issues … but a lot of people including management tell everyone that has a problem to give it to receiving . We have all had enough . One manger tells us if we need ( if we are by ourselves for the day) to get with a lead to help out.. that’s a joke .. they are short handed on the floor .. so they won’t help us .. yet we have to help bring back pallets they can’t do and help with trash ! Home office, managers and market manager don’t care or have a clue what we do on a daily basis ..

Had a backroom associate(BA) load a g-n safe on a pallet into the back of a pickup where the BA promptly did some out of the ordinary movement broke the pallet and caused the g-n safe to tilt. BA's response to member just strap it down and it will be fine for the ride.

Member told the BA they were promised the g-n safe could stay on the pallet, so the member when at home could remove it with their forklift.

BA said nothing we could do since BA could no longer get the forklift blades into the pallet. At that point the member requested a manager. Manager shows up tells BA to off load the g-n safe by hand and load a new one on to the truck for the member without destroying the pallet.

BA was upset and hated moving anything by hand. I faked I heard a call for me to meet with another member and took off. When I got back to receiving BA was fuming on top of having to lift the g-n safe out by hand, BA had placed the g-n safe upside down on the pallet and tried to tell the member it was okay to transport that way. It turned out the member was a trucker and told BA no way were they going to take the g-n safe that way and if the member had delivered it that way to the club. The member was sure that the club would have rejected shipment for unseen damage due to transport.

The reason the BA tried to reload the other g-n safe was because it was the last one in a box. The only other g-n safe we had was the display. The member did agree to take the display but wanted a discount and did get a decent deal.

A week later the member was in the club and was surprised to see the other g-n safe still in it's box and upside down on the pallet on the sales floor.

Backroom is only good for leaving down pallets (am shift) that you dont need. Oh you got a 200 pallet pick list? too bad they leaving pallets straight outta receiving scattered everywhere in the club. Sometimes 3 pallets of the same item, even if you have it red bar'd! Pieces of card board on the floor in receiving? Next thing you know ALL FLOOR PARTNERS TO RECEIVING TO CLEAN IT!

$15 for backroom??? That’s ridiculous!!! With all the responsibilities you have, you should just switch departments. Backroom has all the stress of unloading & running trailers, processing claims, building & selling liquidation pallets, doing RTVs, keeping all those reports low. Along with correcting code 2’s (including jewelry),verifying & delivering high $$ items, keying in & unloading local vendors, unloading fresh deliveries , making sure hazwaste area is fully stocked & hazwaste is done correctly and helping resolve audit issues.I’m sure I missed some stuff but. yea, u need to switch positions or find a new job.. sorry
