Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

One-Claim

With Eric Brandt as the head of claims, the process may actually end up being better. Brandt is the kind of corporate guy who is big in stream lining processes, and removing roadblocks so that claims can get paid quicker, and less waste occurs.

He also likes to make sure workers have tool, so expect that the job will be doable.

Not saying I love the guy, but there is hope.

Self sustaining Units in the early 80s where you did everything. Handle a BI claim - handle a total loss vehicle - handle a property theft - it didn’t work them and it won’t work now.

The One Claim handling experience was implemented in the early 80's under SSU. Didn't end well.

Allstate ...you’re in good hands LOL! This would mean all inside and auto appraiser adjusters will be one and the same . Love to see it .

Don't you all get it? Glen runs the show, Eric is he's mouthpiece. Ken is gone because he wouldn't play Glenn's game. Glen is systematically destroying the claims operations in the US and moving as mu---r as possible to Pune, which, by the way, is a 3rd party vendor. Wake up!

10 years with Allstate and I can say this- the only constant is change and there are no new ideas. Every single time something changes like this, the folks that have been around longer than I have will tell me about the last time they tried this “new” idea.

And now we’re buying more customers rather than attracting them with a great product at a fair price, which is pretty pathetic.

Nonsense. Brandt is the head cheerleader of this st show. Cut too deep at precisely the wrong time and in critical areas where we've always had trouble hiring. The closed loop feedback is on a steady decline, and all parties are pssed from agents to customers to employees. This won't end well for us or him more than likely, though in the short term he is being paid and getting nice bonuses.

@lvf+1bbUTIDg Yup! I was there in 2006, it’s was absolutely ridiculous, you would literally never be caught up and your phone would ring non stop, you think Allstate is bad? Working as a “generalist” was a nightmare. Shortly after Prog separates their file owners, injury reps and auto appraisers, you literally had to pick which one you wanted to do. Allstate is incompetent anyway, this is going to be a Titanic level disaster!!!

Are you insane ? Progressive tried this 15 years ago. They called adjusters by the title of Generalists . Adjusters did everything from recorded statements, liability decisions, handling injuries , writing the estimates , rental management in ARMS, managing the car repairs , settling total losses . You think you’re overworked now ? Post pandemic employees will quit en masse rather than work 60 plus hours a week .

Half of the claims department is in India. More jobs will be moved over there by the end of the year.

Eric actually has a lot of diverse skills. He wouldn’t be in the position he is in if he didn’t.
