Legg Townhall

Had all the other sc*m bags-HR VP & McFluffy

When it came to benefits being screwd from older workers, he basically said "Go listen to mc fluffy's talk (who had already disconnected by then). Sorry you don't want to hear this but I'm not going to go into it and the decision was made, it was too complicated to give some people benefits that others in the company don't get. And many other companies don't have them so you should be happy with your new caregiver days." The question screener had ready the exact minute mark to watch in the fluff video so they had no intent to go into it.

Also screened out questions dealing with it and the ineptitude of our management or the pay inequity for our upper management vs everyone else.

All those consulting studies, Replacement of people with software. Off Shoring. How are those [-] dividends paying now ? Zero raise equals automatic resume release.

Left Town Halls = lies, lies, and more lies. He will p-e on your leg and then try to convince you it's just raining out.

Did anyone else have a hard time understanding what the HR SVP was saying? I think she used every buzz word and even made up a few new ones. I'm not even sure she answered the question. The BS meter was max'd out!! Oh, and since Legg doesn't have same benefits that employees with 25+ years of service have, then why should anyone have more benefits than he has. Just shows leadership is out of touch with the rank and file employees needs.

"This is the last time I am going to address this issue". I am sorry, your job is to address what is impacting your organization. Anyone can put together a slide deck, leaders don't run from trouble or things that make them uncomfortable. And you people thought Legg was going to be different? If you think making fake videos on office space or trying on Batman suits is different then you got it.

What's with the survey they gave for this town hall? Normally I expect the "I understand the direction" type BS questions but this one asked you to list your source of news and information?

And of course no place for comments anymore because they apparently don't want to hear it.

Someone said: "Take your pay inequity and go home. This ain't communism."

Where do we find such gems? Perhaps at the Omni last weekend, wondering why the US doesn't have a military coup like in Minamar (sic).

@nll+1baijiPw, you're on the right track, my friend.

Let's see those cycle time metrics from nominations to VP approval and money received. I'm sure this process is so efficient and breaking all time records. Next time, they will explain the concept of real time you in company terms, which is not fast.

I found it funny when he said only 10% of connection awards for the budget they stole from merit raises for this part of bonuses were given out so far. It is obvious why. First a manager has to nominate. Then a Director or AVP has to approve. And finally the VP has to approve. At any stage this thing can go wrong. But hey they are trying to be real time with awarding performance.

He also said 62% of his organization is outsourced and the remainder are employees. He said they are trying to renegotiate contracts so more employees could do work that some outsourced contractors do now.

Then that sleazy HR VP said something to effect this year we have hired a few more employees. What they don't show, are what country those employees are hired at. They are hiring in India and Israel. Very few American based employees being hired, but they won't give you that breakdown. They just give you diversity and gender breakdowns.

It is funny how they keep talking diversity and when it comes time for Q&A (by which time there were only give minutes left) the first questions are about loss of benefits.

Per question:
i wonder how they will split out the exec 's- who stays and who goes to the new media company? I would assume Legg would want to go with the new company

This was yet ANOTHER of his batman references the other op posted about. He said he planned to stay with T unless "the new company" offered him job as batman.

As for lost benefits, he also mentioned "I wasn't eligible." Of course when at that level, you don't have to worry about paying healthcare benefits when you retire. Perhaps his biggest concern will be to find a batman outfit that fits.

I used to actually care about doing a good job and helping the company be successful. Now I do the bare minimum and consult on the side to get double pay. T's Finance folks (who aren't actually trained in Finance or even Accounting) can't put a dollar value to a lot of things, so in their minds, those things don't count. They include commitment, trust, experience, knowing where the bones are buried, reputation, etc. Unless you can't put a hard $$$ on something, they don't want to hear it. Id--ts....

He spent more time talking about being Batman than he did addressing his fractured employee base. In summary, you people losing benefits promised are a monitory so get over it. Nothing on MVO which was in the top 10 questions.
