Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The Writing is on The Wall - Continual Decay of The Company

Sold assets at a loss and heavy debt burden still remains from DTV and TWX.
Undercut your wireless business by bolstering T-Mobile and under funding Network.
Price point for wireless service is out of touch with marketplace. Trying to maintain margins with non stop cost cutting(layoffs). Doing desperate deals with Charlie Ergen and letting the Fox right into the hen house. Culture from the top is still the same belligerent and condescending to all with a track record of abysmal performance.
Can someone outline how with premium prices for an average commodity service this thing can be turned around? All I can see is more desperate deals and an outcome where someone buys the company after the share price erodes to sub $15. We have yet to see the dividend investing community offload their holdings en masse but it is coming.

They need to bring in management from the outside. The strategy of grooming an executive's chief of staff to become a leader in the company only works when you want to keep running the same type of business. You'll never pivot into new industries with old skillsets.

Hey, OP, I just realized that AT&T is on a good path now. They're going to be running the only type of business that they know.

‘Wanna be analyst….’ Yep! The only thing these people can run (over) is the soles of their shoes. If you’re so smart while are you still driving that truck and fixing outside wiring? Wait for it……because you’re so good at it or maybe it’s the only thing you know how to do. But analyst…just….NO.

Wanna be analyst. Think they know something about debt and running a company.

It's difficult to watch, like two trains colliding head on, on a tressel, in slow motion.

Continual Decay of The Company. For us grunts, yes. For Ratty & Stinky, no. They will still have multiple corporate jets to choose from and full retirements unlike us.

The BoD will never pull back their compensation. They must be blackmailing the BoD. And the large shareholders like BlackRock would rather change Exxon's BoD for climate change, but leave the crooks in-charge of T.

You people should be writing for Barron's or Forbes. You are casting pearls before swine here and not getting compensated for your brilliant and insightful business acumen.

History proves that whenever T does a deal, guy on the other side of the table is going to outsmart ATT 100% of the time.

Ratty and Stinky just got taken for the most $ in history - and were richly rewarded for being F O O L S

Even after the deals close, T will still be carrying too much debt to make it an attractive target. If it can manage to reduce it another 50-60%, then a very slim chance. Even then, you’re still dreaming! It wouldn’t be a buyout, it would be a bailout!

Company will eventually be bought out and it will definitely be at sub $20. Even after the TWX and DTV sales there is too much debt for anyone's taste. ATT management just couldn't leave DTV and TWX alone to do what made them successful. I am convinced that anytime ATT does a deal that the guy on the other side of the table is going to outsmart ATT 90% of the time. After a deal is done then the "Merger Synergies" and "Integration" come about where ATT seals the deal on showing the acquired just how stupid and inefficient they are. In order to be successful at ATT you just have to play the part as results don't matter. You ever see Randall or Stankey take a hit due to the company's stock price?
