Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Why do most new people leave?

Obviously some leave because they don't like the job or are lazy. But I believe that is not most. I personally believe that most leave because of the absolute chaos now going on in the clubs.

Calling Ethics does help. You can always tell when management got called on. They are super helpful and nice. Sometimes, it’s just too late. People do leave and no matter the pay they’ll go get a job where there treated with respect.

Been here four years. Few years ago we got a new gm and he cut the staff we had by 2/3. Its remained that way since. We used to have around ten to twelve people on registers at a time. Now it’s usually two to three. We had eight to nine cart people with three working most shifts but always two. Now it’s three to four with only one usually working sometimes two. They’ve kept it that way on purpose and the rest of the store is run that way. Even with the new gm. Customer satisfaction plummeted after they reduced staff. Now new hires leave immediately cause they realize it’s a total cr-p job and the company has a bad rep and everyone warns not to work there in our area. It’s one of the worst places you can work now and the managers and company try to blame other things. It’s all their fault nothing else.

My experience with new members is that they don't listen to persons with time on the job. They find the Pied Piper and stick to them like glue.

It's not just management. It's also team leads that have no clue what they are doing OR they make it very hard for coworkers that aren't their type. It's being forced to be deceitful to members so they upgrade their membership. It's changing schedules constantly. It's talking rudely and snapping orders at coworkers. I dont have to have candy bars thrown at me or a $5.00 coupon to know I'm doing a great job. I dont need a raise to do a better job. I always give it my all. I find it disrespectful the way management and teamleads conduct themselves and really kind of funny to watch!

As a Sam's vet, I have said a thousand times that I would be absolutely shell-shocked if I were new. It's like throwing someone out a plane with no instruction and saying good luck.

I think a lot of them realize what kind of sh*tshow it is on their first day. Most of them are given no training and are then scolded for not doing something right
