It feels like the leadership only knows how to pad the numbers through cuts. Sometimes it's layoffs, sometimes it's benefits, sometimes it's firing of people for the smallest infractions...but something is always in play. None of these changes affect our results in the long run. But why bother and try to figure out what the real problem is and how to solve it when you have enough things and people you can cut as a band-aid solution?

Imperial employees are overpaid for the work they do relative to industry. We are no longer Canada's number one integrated O&G company, having ceded that title to others a long time ago. We are not leaders, simply followers.... yesterday's technology tomorrow. This is what happens when you pay lip service to diversity and inclusion while supporting favoritism and blatant discrimination towards competent employees of color. Look at the org charts throughout business and corporate departments, it is is colorless world.
The problem is salaries are too high, compared to others in the industry (or god forbidding the support centers around the globe). Too many people running around doing safety checks, and creating documentation for the next audit.
