So what you are saying is pleabs like hourly people have no transferable skills? Isn’t that the same type of hate you were griping about?
Do any of you even know what the office ppl do n the different departments they handle or do u think all office ppl r one?

Accountants, human resources, IT department, marketing etc, they all lost their jobs also, and the ones that didn't.. alot of them left because the whole company became miserable to work for, n their workload increased dramatically.. but the difference with those people are they own skills that are translatable to another job or company..

I don’t love office people but FYI, you’ll never hear them say we laid off non union employees. They make something up vague about their performance and fire them. That way they don’t have to call them back and can hire cheaper college grads down the road if needed. No there not really railroaders, but the hirer ups are screwing them too. I know a guy that actually worked in the field a few years before getting an HDQ job who was “let go for performance” only a couple months after getting NS Spirit award.
You ever notice how those office people refer to themselves as railroaders. A railroader is someone out on the tracks....., conductor,engineer ect

I guess it is the fact that they spent all that money to build that new building. Railroad spends and spends on frivolous projects and then try to make up the shortfall by ruining lives.
not sure why the hate for the office people. Yes, the very top has it made but the vast majority of office workers are dealing with the same cr-p.

Trust me, office personnel have been cut pretty deep as well. Half of the work has been outsourced as well.
