Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Treatment.

One of our long term associates retired about a week ago. A COS handed him a cake. Did not even have a name on the cake. Not one manager said anything. This person had been very hard working and productive. Now we really know what they think of associates.

Our PTC always took care of this kind of stuff. Wake up Sam's Club and bring the
PTC"S back....

couple things... long time people who actually work are efficient because over the years they had to get used to working hard , fast and right because there was no hope of ever having enough people. If you could not streamline and be accurate you would not last. .... second thing.. We just had a 28 year associate retire. She was easily one of the hardest workers until the very day she finished. I was on LOA when she retired but still had lunch with her and some other associates for a final goodbye. Besides her there were only 4 of us there. Not by design , many people were aware of the lunch but only us four cared enough to show up. Three of us were long term people with 25 plus years. What a freaking shame.....

Another sad part is you always thought thy appreciated you good work. Then you find out you are jus a number. People you thought were you friends trun ou not carding either.

What I always liked best about long timers is that they would work hard but also work smart. Very efficient these 10 and 20 year plus friends.

I have taken it upon myself to purchase items for associates that I have worked with over the years. I don't depend on management to take the time to do anything, I do it because as someone that has worked with another for years I want to say thank you. I buy a card and have as many people as I can get sign it, and I purchase a few items that I think the associate may like. For instance, it they like football I buy a collectible for them. Nothing big or expensive, just little things. And management usually does have a cake made for them, with the associates name, of course. As coworkers I just feel it's up to us to take care of each other sometimes.

Managers only care about themselves. They work us like dogs so they can reap the benefits of fat bonuses. I am so sick of them all. We were to have a visit from the CEO of the company yesterday. For days floor associates worked like dogs to get our club in shape. They cancelled. What a joke.
