Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Why don't they care about reputation?

It is interesting to me that those at the top are not doing anything to improve the reputation of this company.

I wonder how many years it would take to repair its reputation, because now it seems to me that this is a hopeless case?

That is why it is getting harder to attract good people, and I believe that in time it will get even harder.

Look around you! Look who shops there? Who are 75% of the associates? Why would they care about reputation? The difference between Sachs and the Dollar Store is the same as the difference between Costco and Sams/Walmart.

We also had a job fair. I think 80 percent of them wanted to be paid immediately. We all know why too. One girl disappeared into the family restroom for 45 minutes. Hmmm. If sams is that desperate they need to start doing more intense interviews to weed out the unflushables.

Our club had a "job fair" yesterday. It was comical watching the people coming in to apply for a job. They were dressed like slobs. One gal had on jeans with holes from her thighs to her lower leg, her hair didn't even looked combed. Her friend looked like he just climbed out of bed. Another person wore shorts. It is pretty sad w hen the company doesn't even care about one's appearance. All they want are warm bodies.

The company is too big to fail. They don't care about who gets stepped on along the way.

You would think a company who can't keep people would be treating the long termers better. This i believe will be the downfall of the company. I have seen so many good long term associates let go and the ones that are coming in are absolutely terrible

Because those at the top aren't going to be around for the long term. THe decision makers make so much money that they only have to hang around for a few years and they're set for life. I don't have a problem with them getting paid a good salary. But in 2019, six sam's club executives accounted for over $112 million in salaries.
