Are non management tech employees at T under stress 7/24/365 getting a phone call at 3 am in bad weather .

They call at all times day or night.
But that doesn't mean you have to answer.

As a tech, you’re “on-call” when it’s your turn in the rotation. Unless you’re the only tech in the city which is not unusual and do call out 7x24x365, then no, it’s not typically the case. I’ve been around for over 3 decades and no longer participate in call-out duty. I would rather let the younger guys get the OT and additional call-out pay.

It is the nature of the business. We provide an essential service, and the public relies on it to be working 24/7/365.

I don't know how long you have been doing this, but if you are young and new, please be aware this is how your life will be. It is not for everybody, and if you have a problem with it, then it would be best to find another line of work.

I don’t know about the stress part, but I have to take my phone every where I go, even when I’m on vacation and I’m a tech. Of course I bill them every time and always round up when I do. I guess it could be considered stressful to some, but it’s also very lucrative.
