Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Great - more Quantum BS from HR Angela!

Blondie wants us to get feedback from 5 colleagues this month.

I'll give her some feedback - leaves you POS. Take Quantum with you. And leave us the retiree healthcare you and Stinky took away.

Otherwise, please just GTF outta here and SHUT UP!

Just got a request to rate my 1st level, who I've known for 3 weeks. What good is this? One of the many reasons I've avoided going into management. I grass is more pi---d on in their side of the yard.

All excellent for the 1st level until I know better.

My performance was not mentioned during my 1-on-1. So much focus on making things look splashy that we never got around to the meat and potatoes.

"How in the world do I give honest feedback to the AVP that I directly report to..."

True...even anonymously...and let's be honest, who is going to trash their peers? Everyone single person is being rated "excels", on the questions. And even on the last question when they try and lead you to point out weak areas for the person getting feedback, areas to work on, everyone is just stating there aren't any, or just filling the box with another compliment.

Which would lead anyone with a brain in their head to deduce this whole exercise is a meaningless waste of time and resources.

Which of course means our leadership doubles down on it. They'll probably increase the feedback requirement before the whole thing goes away quietly in a year, certainly no more than 2.

Who actually had a meeting and decided to invest In this CR-P a TOTAL and absolute waste of my time and resources. It disgusts me, some of the things this company comes up with. I would love to know the cost that was associated with this BS

Quantum and AT&T culture just doesn't work. It is like telling football players to wear hockey skates, makes no sense. On one hand, executives and management know best & do what you're told. On the other hand, we want you to provide feedback and think critically.

The track record so far has been ignore employee's input and plow ahead anyway, which makes the whole thing pointless. You might be lucky enough to have a manager or a team that actually tries to make this work. There are way bigger issues on the table than what Quantum can solve. It isn't the first time that executives will throw away money to buy a band-aid solution, look out for the Quantum replacement soon.

How in the world do I give honest feedback to the AVP that I directly report to when he rarely shows up to 1 on 1's on his schedule - and we never discuss anything specific to me. He talks for 25 of the 30 minutes about business and other items.

It takes 5 minutes and it is multiple choice. You don’t ‘rate’ anyone. You just provide feedback. During performance appraisal or promotions, they should look at the feedback from above, below and sideways. This is not good for teacher’s pets or those who have been with the same manager for more than 5 years.

It gets even worse. I get a Quantum email telling me to name colleagues for feedback. Like they are not busy enough already, I have to distract them with this horse $hit.

Then I get a system message that my boss named me, a direct report for feedback?!?!?! WTF? I guess I will have to look in Quantum at all the brown-nosers that said nice things about the Stinky for suitable material!

"You've got to remember that Amplify hasn't gone away. Quantum is just an add on; a nice bonus, LOL. "

My large national dept. has done nothing in Amplify for 2021. It's still there, but frozen.

Hope Quantum weeds out those underperforming whiners. Let's get back to being productive.

I was on a call today, and heard from HR that we should not get too married to Quantum. They have heard loud and clear from many and Quantum will be a one year deal and replaced.

" I’ll not participate. And they’ll do nothing about it"

Well, if you're bargained for it doesn't apply. If you're non bargained for, that's probably just what they're hoping for. Easy picking. Doesn't play well or take direction. Good luck next round. Play their d-mb game with them.

Let me make sure, all this so I can get 1% average merit raise or may be no merit raise because they lowered the salary range. All while price for everything (cars, homes, food at grocery and restaurant and ....) is going up. These people are mo--ns.

It’s not my job to rate co workers. That would be their bosses job.
All this feel good BS does nothing to retain customers.
I’ll not participate.
And they’ll do nothing about it.

Quantum is your reminder that nobody at the director level & above has no idea what your job is nor how you do it.

You've got to be delusional to think this helps anyone who, like, actually works. If you sit around all day thinking big thoughts about how you can "inspire" your people and make them do more work for the same paycheck, it may seem like a useful tool.

Quantum is universally laughed at by L3 and below. It appears to have been architected by a child.
I never thought I'd find myself wishing for Amplify to return.

Just play along and get 5 peers to say you're a rockstar.. Here I'll provide a template:

Its been such a pleasure to work with [insert_name_here] . [He/She] has been one of the the most productive and collaborative members of my [team/group] . Blah Blah Blah..

It's very very lame for HR to ask for this nonsense, its just busy work, it doesn't accomplish anything, just like the T high five, another worthless gesture.. I'm here to do a job, not to be part of an ego st-----g contest..

A complete waste of time and money. Whoever came up with this should be fired. My colleagues and I laughed our straws off when we filled these out. My manager says she won’t even look at them. For the last question asking what is the one thing.... I put “wear pants ion the next video call”!

There was some discussion in my group over the last few weeks as to whether or not they would be sticking to this requirement (of 5 separate feedbacks), as my manager and level 3 are bright enough to realize that this essentially renders the whole thing meaningless. I am not one to p-e and moan about every new system that comes along...but how can upper levels of management not realize this whole thing just lends itself to nonsense; meaningless glowing feedback from your peers that you will return, all in the name of "checking the box" to get to the 5 total requirement? Truth is, that is all that will be looked at, did you get your 5 or not? That's the metric. They won't even read them. Such a colossal and ridiculous waste of time and resources. Maybe they're just trying to identify folks so pathetic and isolated that they can't even find 5 folks to scratch their back in a reciprocal nonsensical circle jag off?
