Cobra Premium Assistance

Got my letter today and called right away. I talked to a representative that was very nice and knew what she was talking about. They ask 3 questions: were you involuntarily laid off, is other coverage available (spouse) and are you on Medicare. The application will be reviewed by a benefits person and you'll get a callback in 24-48 hours. If you qualify and payments were made for April and May you'll be reimbursed by check.

Anyone know if the coverage under Cobra is nationwide or is it limited to the State where the policy was originally obtained. Just wondering if you move to a different State, if the policy has nationwide coverage (normal care and emergency) or if the policy would have to be adjusted to reflect the current State.

Got letter on 6/2, called same day. Benefits said I'd get a call back within 2-4 days. Heard nothing so called on 6/11. Rep said application was approved so will receive check for the 3 months I already paid for.
Plus Rep said they are not contacting people who were approved only those that didn't get approved. If you haven't heard anything yet call ...

I was a hand raiser in last years RIF. Was officially rejected for cobra assistance. HR said I am considered a volunteer even though I am listed as terminated.

I just got off the benefits online . Made call on 6/3. Mine was approved 6/7. Chat live person said today refund can take 1 -2 monthly cycles. That would put it Aug 10 or 25th he said. I said why so long and he said its the billing dept. Online shows I have the Apr and May credit; and June and July covered by subsidy.

I just called 1 (877) 258-3699 (Honeywell Retiree Resource) to see why I didn’t receive a letter. They told me that I am ineligible because I volunteered for the RIF. The subsidy only applies to employees that were involuntarily let go. Because I do not trust Honeywell there is a chance that this information is incorrect.

I thought hand raisers were still involuntary. But I still want to know if any hand raiser got the letter. I did not. Can somebody post the phone number that was provided in the letter?

Did anybody that volunteered for a RIF get a letter? Not sure if that makes us ineligible.

unbelievable, they took the entire 60 days allowed to essentially copy the form letter developed by the DOL. Thanks to the original post we know what the next step is; the "instructions" in the letter were non-existent and I'll make my call tomorrow. Now the clock can start on the "reimbursement" and I'm guessing the typical 180 HON payment terms will kick in.......
