I mean, this can be okay only for those who have no healthy ambition. To work without any will only from paycheck to paycheck, that’s awful.
Any person with healthy ambitions is always striving to be more and more successful, to work harder and become better at what they do and for such people it doesn't make any sense to continue working here anymore.
On the other hand, those who are willing to sacrifice their moral values to get what they want... they are fine here.
Techs are always being hired in the west and southwest if you want to remain with T. Lots of easy work, good pay!

My yard has gone from 42 field Techs, 4 Supes, 1 on-site 2nd line, 1 Admin, 1 Trainer and 3 Warehouse guys down to 13 Techs, 1 Supervisor, current 2nd line is a day's drive away, no trainer, no clerk, and 1 part time Temp in the Warehouse.
The few of us left are waiting for either a buy-out offer or a layoff so we can play the unemployment game.
Why? - because we are within striking distance of retirement and aren't leaving without as much scratch as we can get from these turkeys. Milk Old Bessie til she runs dry. Boomers are vicious.

I was very ambitious 6 years ago before AT&T bought us and began to tell us how much smarter they were at a business they had no idea how to compete in. They leveled us down because their view was no one can be as smart as us we are AT&T. Basically beat the ambition out of those who stayed. Now 6 years later and two failed mergers we see what those of us already knew 6 years ago. You were the best in class at phone service and fiber,( but that has even lagged due to management in attention) but weren’t really that smart when it came to businesses you didn’t understand or want to learn about.
