How many times have I heard this – “Document everything” and I knew it needed to be done, however, I always kind of ignored it and didn’t find the time to deal with it. I was too lazy to do it because I didn't think I would be in a situation where I needed it. I don't want to talk about my case, I just wanted to mention that you shouldn't be lazy to keep a journal because one day it might be very useful for you.

I've been working for 16 years and I always document everything. It sure helped when I would always get interrupted during breaks and lunches. That payout was substantial. I'm sure glad I kept track of that. Of course the personnel associate let every manager know what I received and in turn the whole club knew. The payout for that debacle was even more than the original. So document everything you can. Dates Times and people that heard or saw something.
I started almost 2 years ago since someone at the club started harassing me, and making lies trying to get me fired... so yes document everything special for those who try to make your life miserable at work just because they think you are better than they are, so they try to hurt you...

Yea i been saved a few times over the years by my documenting everything. you got to be detailed as heck too. Who you talked to, what time you talked, what day, in some cases what year. where you talked to them and potential witnesses. This day and age screenshot and take a picture of every thing. see something on the wire while doing a cbl? definitely take a picture! onedotwalmart? screensho!, texts while at work and not at work? yes sir! screenshot!
sometimes i see a manager with that look on there face like they about to take out their bad day on me. i say before we converse you are being audio recorded via my phone for my personal records. and they walk away.
yea its kinda crazy to have to do that stuff. i think i been saved from being fired at least a dozen times over.
