Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

WF Ripoff

My dept. was sold so they are terminating me next month. I had earned money for my FSA account, doing their stupid health education and getting a physical, etc. So Iooked at my account today and they pulled out the money they gave me. Plus some of it was earned last year!!!!!

I have bills I paid that I was going to get reimbursed for, but now I'm stuck paying them since they took their money back. This is the most disgusting thing they've ever done to me.

“They” did not “even charged some bills against the balance. But now it disappeared and they switched those bills to my regular FSA”.

Only you can do that. Without record keeping life is a grind. Fortunately voting requires no paperwork whatsoever.

I for one would just love to see OP’s checkbook… if it even exists. Life can be as hard as you want to make it.

It’s not fake news. Post ID: @1bnt+1axWYFSA Has it right. Somebody has simply signed up for something without reading instructions or learning about how pre tax health savings and withdrawals work. A good example of the San Fran failed public education. Yes, they walk among us and somehow manage to get jobs at a bank. Incredible when you think of it… in most of the country people are far more educated and possess financial and affairs literacy.

Is it an HRA or HSA? Makes a difference. Termination date is next month means what:May 1, May 15, May 30? This too makes a difference for coverage on

Call the benefits service center and have them explain the flow of contributions and distributions out before you make this accusation (that doesn’t even make sense). If your illogical claim that WF stole your money out of there because you will soon be terminating is actually true, then post the facts on here, not your irrational assumptions.

OP here, I don't have an HSA. I have an HRA and FSA. I promise I saw the entries earlier in the year when they put my Optum credits in my FSA. Now they're gone.

I was one of the original people to respond. Here's what I think is happening here. OP has an FSA. Your free cash will be in an Optum HSA, not your FSA. You need to look at your Optum account.

As far as investment vehicles, HSAs are better than a 401K. You should fill that first, then you can invest that money in stocks. And if you can, pay out of pocket for health care costs. You get no penalty to put money into it, no penalty to withdraw.

@ucl please stop giving people advice. HSAs are one of the very very few tax shelters available to people. Presuming the $ is used for med expenses, you don't pay any taxes on the income, nor do you pay taxes when you withdraw. That is a fantastic deal that no regular investment option is going to give you. Not that we shouldn't also have taxable accounts, I'm just saying that HSAs are an awesome way to save / limit your tax liabilities.

@qvw+1axWYFSA – give it a rest. Your pettiness is pathetic and getting old. Such a miserable small minded person you are.

Typical Wells illiteracy. Definitely need to consider moving their hubs to heartland where the smart people are still raised with decent education.

the answers here are confusing HSA with FSA. With a HSA, the money is yours forever, even if you leave, and there's no time limit on how long you have to use the funds. Rally challenges go into the HSA .

FSAs are limited time to use. You can only use what you have contributed, and if you are leaving the company you have a fixed timeframe to use it or lose it, similar to how every year you can use it up to march of the following year and claim until april... or lose it.

@nfj+1axWYFSA, the money has been in my account for months. They even charged some bills against the balance. But now it disappeared and they switched those bills to my regular FSA.

dont use those accounts! You can save money in a mutual fund on fidelity or similar and then you are able to both pick investments you want and also use for any bills or whatever when you need to with no early withdrawl penalties; even the 401k's are a crock of sh–t!

You can also invest as much as you want into a mutual fund.

Actually, you don't lose it when you quit. I'd earned the full $800 before I resigned earlier this year. It had been paid into my Optum account (I'm assuming OP had 'earned' it by doing the wellness activities, since it takes 4–6 weeks for it to be distributed to your Optum account, it hadn't been paid out to Optum). If you leave before it is distributed to the Optum account, it would make sense that you may "lose" it as a benefit.

Just guessing...

Fake news? Why would someone make up something so random? As far as it being in a bank account, they say no, it's a recordkeeping entry and isn't real money. You lose it when you quit, but I still have a month to go and I needed it.

The can't do that. It's deposited in a Optum Bank account.
