Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Differences between T and our competitors?

I'm wondering what are generally the biggest differences between this company and its biggest competitors?
I hope to be able to get a job in one of our competitor companies for which I have heard many positive things. It won’t surprise me if I meet a lot of former colleagues there. I got sick of this company and I would like to leave as soon as possible.

"AT&T treats its workers with respect. Not like other companies."

Tell the to the people who they sold off to IBM, Accenture, and any other company they used.

"AT&T has great leadership. Followers not so good."

Yeah att leaders are about as good as georgie w bush. they never admit they make a mistake or there is a problem they just continue fitting square pegs in round holes.

other companies actually like having experienced people on their staff and don't view them as an asset burden hurting their bottom line.

Came to AT&T from one of its biggest competitors. It was equally bad in terms of job security. We used to have layoff for a better half of the past decade every quarter .

All the competitors are large corporations all with their own drama attached. You can find different faults with them all, you would just have to decide what you can live with. A lot depends on what type of work you do. Your skills may be transferrable to other industry, so don't wrap yourself around a single industry.

the other companies treat you like a human and actually respect you and encourage you to come up with ideas to run the company and makes you want to come into work. they also don't look under every rock to see who they can outsource.

that is just what I can think of off the top of my head. there are ton of other reasons.

Our competitors actually try to make a customer's experience easy and delightful. It's a whole new world when a customer leaves the store and knows what their monthly bill is, because it's the same as the advertised price.
